Mystery Woman w/Teddy Bears at Grand Floridian Mystery Solved!!

This is creepy! I don't know the lady, I never met her or even saw her but I want to be honest and say that even if she's a sweet innocent lady it's still creepy to me. She reminds me of one of the haunts in Haunted Mansion.

wow......

It's how I feel. I can't help it. I'm not a mean person who says mean things to people but I just wanted to be honest. I would never tell her I feel this way but I don't think its wrong for me to tell my opinion on here.

I've read through all the posts about Lynn. It's been disheartening to read some of the comments others have made. To me, she sounds like a warm person with a kind soul and she has as much right to enjoy her days in the GF as anyone else. I cannot think of a better place for her to spend her time everyday; she is in a happy, and most importantly, safe, environment. I have her information on my ADR schedule and I really hope we have the opportunity to meet her on our trip in December. I've contemplated if we should take her a special bear since she's shared so many of her special bears with others. I hope we don't miss her when we go to dinner at the GF. Maybe her sister, Joan, will share some updates with us soon.

everyone is entitiled to their opinion, and even though you say you would never tell her that directly, it has been stated here on this thread that she has a friend that tells her what others write about her...sometimes it's better to keep your opinion to yourself...that's just my way of thinking

Wow. Lynn is a wonderful woman. She's not crazy, or insane, just a sweet lady that lost her husband that finds comfort at the GF and loves to listen to the music. We stop by and say hello and chat with her every trip if she's there, while we're waiting for dinner. Yes, she does have OCD and doesn't shake hands, etc. but there is absolutely nothing wrong with her to creep anyone out. And she doesn't sit around with bags and bags of teddy bears... she has a basket with a few in it.

Some of you shouldn't be so quick to judge, especially when you won't even say hello, or haven't even been in the GF.

I hope her friend will have the sense not to tell her the negative things peoplemhave said about her. But I have no control over that. I agree with you that sometimes its better to keep opinions to yourself but only if you'll hurt someone. That lady woun't be hurt if she doesn't know that I think its creepy. And I wouldn't tell her! (if I ever saw her). I'm only telling DISERs how I feel.

yes, I saw your response and was not go to bother with an explanation...but since you asked...my intention was not to be mean in any way...but the question you asked made no sense....there was nothing that insinuated that she sold her bears, and your post just reminded me of someone walking in on the middle of a conversation and not understanding what was being said. but in this case there was no reason for that, because you are able to read the thread and understand what was being said...:confused3
I'm sorry you thought my comment was mean, that was not my intention.:santa:

read post #112...obviously she knows the mean things DISers say about her or else this thread would not have been started by her sister

ps...tell your husband "thank you"

Hello. I will accept your apology. :goodvibes

As far as me thinking the lady was selling the Teddy bears; I did read back a bit and someone posted she got bride and groom teddies from this lady. My error; I went and re-read that post; it appears the teddies were given to the poster. :goodvibes

Remember in the far future there could come a time you could end up alone in the same circumstances.
How would you like it if compete strangers that never met you wrote and thought about you that way? Lynn is sitting in the GF but you could be sitting in the library,a coffee shop, the cemetery or just a park.

"Mrs. XXXX is sitting in a public place but hey she creeps us out, lets put her in a place were she belongs like Hounted Mansion so we can't see her.

Many many times people end up the same way like they wished for strangers. karma is a nasty lady with a long memory.

She sounds absolutely charming and I hope that I get to meet her on my next trip!

Wow this sounds like something my 8 year old daughter would say without thinking. I had known nothing about this women and we encountered her on our last trip. She was not creepy and was actually very pleasant and interesting to talk with. When I found out her story when I go back on here I was so sad for her and wished I would have known prior to meeting her because I would have made it a point to spend more time chatting more with her!!!! I cannot imagine how someone could view a lonely old widow as creepy. Oh and for those of you talking about her being surrounded by garbage bags there were none when I saw her she had her bears in one rolling suitcase. I think some of you need to mind your own business on vacation and not worry about people who are sitting in hotel lobbies or drinking beer before noon.

ITA.

We've seen her many times and she is sweet and seems lonely. If this gives her a little happiness so be it.

It makes me crazy when adult posters sound like bratty bullies.

The OP of this thread is her sister! So it may not hurt the person you're speaking cruelly about, but I'm sure it won't make her sister feel all warm and fuzzy.

I'm strangely reminded of the father refusing to let his children feed the birds with little old woman in front of St. Pauls in Mary Poppins. ;)

It's a cold heart that looks at someone who is doing no harm (and who is apparently even bringing some pleasure to the people around her!) and thinks, "Ew, that's creepy!" or "She needs 'help'" ie. needs to be removed ASAP.

I can't imagine thinking anything about it, if I saw her while dragging my luggage through the lobby of the Grand Floridian. It wouldn't have even occurred to me to wonder about her, before this thread! She's an elderly lady sitting in a public place. So what? :confused3

My grandmother is 90, my grandfather has been gone for 16 yrs, my mother (her only child) and all 4 granddaughters work. Her great grandkids are either at work or school all day. She doesn't have many friends left. She sits inside her house most of the day, watching tv (since she only has one soap left now not sure what she watches), and waiting on family to get home (my parents and 2 sisters live around her). Lets see........sitting in my living room alone all day.........or sitting in the GF meeting new people, listening to music, and enjoying a peaceful life.......which sounds better to most of you?:cloud9:
