Help! I have two pictures of a parade at the Magic Kingdom, must have been in the 80's sometime, but don't know what the title or purpose of the parade was. Picture #1 is of a large inflatable Mickey dressed as a medieval king, holding a sceptor (sort of Henry the 8th style of dress). Picture #2 is of a float with similar design, large smiling mask on the back - almost a mardi gras kind of look and colors.

Does anyone remember this parade? Name? Occasion? Dates?

Thanks for your help! Lin

I believe that was the "Mardi Gras" afternoon parade which debuted at the 20th anniversary celebration in October 1991 and was around until Mickey Mania started in 1994!

Yep. It was called "Surprise Celebration". Here's some more info about it for you from Walt Dated World:

Yep, I remember that parade.
There also were some Happy Meal toys that went along with the parade. Not sure if they were from Mcdonalds or Burger King (they had the Disney toy contract for a while). They were little wind up floats. We have Mickey, Minnie, Donald and (I think) Goofy.

Thanks for the info, Bob P and Meeko! I have to admit I don't remember the parade at all :confused3

Thanks also for the link, Meeko - that's a site I wasn't familiar with that may be very helpful in the future.

As usual, the DIS folks come through again!
