Is the scooby doo mystery machine always there? Do they move it? And how hard is it to get a pic of scooby and shaggy by it?

we just got home Friday. on the two days we went to Universal, the mystery machine was there - parked on the side of the road. we got SEVERAL pics with Shaggy and Scooby - very small line. my 8 year old is a big Scooby fan, and they must have spent a good 10 minutes talking with her both times!!!! my husband got stuck holding all our ice cream - so Scooby walked over to him to "eat" the ice cream. it was so much fun!!!

scooby doo is one of the characters at the onsite hotels during the dinner hours of 5-7:00 pm.

the other set of characters are the simpsons. (they switch off)

anyone can dine at one of the hotel restaraunts and be a part of the character dining.
dining at the hotels is open to the general public.

you order your dinner off the regular menu.

the characters make their way around the dining room to visit with the dinner guests.

the characters rotate on different nights to one of the hotels.

call the hotel directly before your trip to find out the schedule of where scooby doo will be while you are at universal.

They have been around for a long long time and aren't going anywhere. You should have no trouble meeting Scooby and Shaggy next summer.

And great info about hotel restaurants! I had no idea they had character dining at the hotels. Scooby is a fav of DS and Simpsons are a fav of mine! Perfect!

They drove by us when we were there 2 years ago and shouted to us about monsters(because DD was carrying a huge Pokemon toy - long story) and waved -it was great and really unexpected!

Our first trip was in 2001, and Scooby and the Gang were there then.

My kids also liked Crash Bandicoot - he would always yell things in a megaphone..
