So my bf and I are going to DL for the first time (we are very big into WDW), semi last minute for our one year anniversary/thank god the holidays are over (we both work retail....) vacation. I've been looking everywhere for a good hotel but there's just so many to choose!! Then I found a deal on bookit.com for a "3.5 star mystery hotel" right near Disney for $65, that is normally $129. I would post the link... but I need to have ten posts to do so :(

Has anyone tried this? If so, what hotel did you get? It looks tempting but I don't want to be stuck somewhere horrible! Maybe by what it offers someone who goes there a lot can figure out which one it is?

Anyways, any other hotel suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for something between $60-$70 a night and not too far of a walking distance, or something with a shuttle!

Thanks sooo much..

What's the dates that you got that rate for? There are many big name hotels near DL that would probably get a 3.5 star rating. Hilton, Hyatt, Marriot etc... These would all have some type of shuttle service... A.R.T., if not their own!

Can you copy and paste the hotel's description on Bookit.com and post it here? If we could see the description, we could probably figure out which hotel it is. :)

Thank you thank you thank you!

How does choosing a Mystery Property work? Immediately after completing your booking, you will receive an email revealing the name and address of the hotel we have secured for you. The email will contain a link directing you to our member`s site in order to view and print a confirmation voucher, which contains directions to the property. It`s that simple!

I'd guess... Menage or Anabella maybe  Really depends on whos star rating they are using! It does say they have ART service... Not sure... Maybe the "Kids eat free" could narrow it down!

Yep, describe it to us.

With hotwire, I think the 3.5s are Hilton and Hyatt. Both have heavy parking fees, if you're bringing a car, and those aren't included with the booking prices. But of course different sites have different ratings.

I personally would rather use hotwire or priceline, if your'e going with the mystery route. You can use betterbidding dot com or...ugh I never remember the other one, to check things out for both hotwire and priceline. See what area you will get what hotels (they have disney area North vs South, for instance), see what the rating are for each site, etc etc. When I booked like that, I knew that it was either going to be Hilton or Hyatt, and I was cool with both. Since I had the head's up of which it would be, I coudl go to their sites and find the parking fees (something like $15/night). etc.

14.00 a day parking would probably be Red Lion Inn. I did find them on priceline in October for 37.00 a day. They were a great hotel Renovated/refurbed less than a year ago. Hoping to stay there next week. and it is listed as a 3.5 star.

OH MAN! I hope!! That's the one I REALLY wanted!

Yea... Red Lion would meet all the described criteria: $14 Parking Fee, Kids eat free, ART stop.

Well it's not:

The Hilton: their rooms don't have refrigerators or microwaves

The Anabella: their rooms don't have microwaves

The Hotel Menage: no refrigerators or microwaves

Either of the Sheraton hotels: no refrigerators or microwaves

The Marriott Suites: no microwaves

I think it's the Red Lion too. Like Crazy Duck said, it meets all of the criteria. :thumbsup2

well....are going to put us out of our misery?

We stayed at the Park Shereton, had a fridge and the parking was $14. However, no mention of kids eat free....

I dont reallly know but my vote is Red Lion specifically for

Children 17 and Under Stay FREE with Adult
Children Eat FREE (12 and Under) with Paying Adult.

Pets welcome(+)

Thanks you so much everyone!!

I will let everyone know as soon as I book. I have to find out if I can get flights first, and then I'm good to go! Fingers crossed for Red Lion!

Well, it turned out to be the Red Lion.

However, I didn't know there was a $500 deposit required upon check in!! What's up with that? Is there a way around that?

Are you staying 10 nights? We stayed there just this past September and they did have a $50 per night deposit put on our card but it was charged back after our stay.

nope, just 4 nights.

I e-mailed and they said they'll get with the hotel marketing team and let me know. I'm just gonna have to call, cause they're trying to add on this shuttle thing for another $80. Couldn't I do the Disney Land Express cheaper?
