I'm just wondering if this tour is worth it. I'm going to be in town to go to HHN on the 28th, express passes in hand, and I'm thinking about doing the tour on Sat.

Just want to get some opinions on this tour.

Thanks in advance.

What do you want to know? It's an informational tour that tells you everything you ever wanted to know about Halloween. Yes, you see houses with the lights on! Yes, you learn a whole lot about HHN.

It's worth it.

There are so many intricate details to these houses that you could never begin to see all of in the dark with everything going on around you. I have taken the tours since they started them a few years ago and it is well worth the money just to see the houses with the lights on. Also the museum last year was awesome! I am on my way out there in a few hours to do the Sideshow tour. Can't wait!

We did the longer one (can't remember if it's Midway or Sideshow), and I HIGHLY recommend it. It was utterly fascinating to see some of the houses with the lights on and to hear about the planning/detail that goes into each one. We were able to see how some of the effects are accomplished; I can hardly wait to experience the houses in the dark on the 28th when we do our RIP tour.

And it was AWESOME to talk to the designers afterwards. We really lucked out and got to talk to like five of them. Those people really do love Halloween, and it shows in their work.

I just did the tour this past Sunday and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys HHN. It was great to get to slowly walk through the three houses and check out all of the detail. I got some great pictures and will try to post some of them later.
Definitely do the tour if there are still spots available.

I ended up doing the tour on the 27th and I must say I had a great time. It was a great in depth look at HHN and getting to see the houses with the lights on was way cool.

I will prob do the more in depth next year, but I'm real glad I did it this year. Took some great pics and left with good memories.

Thanks all

It's funny how different it is to be in the houses with lights on vs. off. During the tour, I loved the leg lamp in Psychoscareapy and made a mental note to look for it when we went through as a "real" haunted house. But the first time through there was so much going on that I totally forgot and missed it! We managed to do that house 3 times, so I did see it on the second go-'round, but I'm glad I saw it with the lights on first or I think I would have missed a lot of detail. Same for Mary Shaw...that one is sooooo detailed, so I tried to remember to catch as much of it as I could when we went through at night. The lights-on tours will not spoil the houses at all; instead, I think it enhances them when you go back and do them later.
