I asked my parents a few minutes ago if I could have one. They said no because it was too risky.

That's what my friend at school on VMK did. My VMK name is AllisonDude, but he has to call me All is on. I kept on telling him to call me AllisonDude. Did he listen? Of course not.

I think it can be risky, but only you can make it that way.

You can set your profile to private and only add people you know. And you can also put your main pic as something other than you, since ANYONE can see the main pic.
Also put a fake bday and location.

Then your safe and good to go. =O

you don't have to do any of that. Private profiles are a good idea, sure. add people you know, but there are people on my friends list that I don't know. I'm perfectly safe. My about me tells all about me. My birthday is real. My location is real. I have 40 something pictures all of me.

You have to realize, no perv is going to travel 100s of miles to find YOU because he saw YOU on myspace. Someone like that walks out on the street and kidnaps girls. Its just easier. I have several sex offenders living within 3 miles, and I used to have one living 2 houses away from me. He could see my house through his window.

The most dangerous thing I did for months was not log into myspace, it was checking my mail.

Myspace is perfectly safe.
