Myspace tracker question

Do they only track people who visit your myspace page who are on your friends list? I installed trakzor and it appears the only people that are being tracked are people I can clearly identify as being my friends.

if you go to tom's page...you will realize that there is no real tracking system for myspace....

it is a fake company that will start sending messages from you to your friends about things such as "enlargement" products and what not...

change your password as soon as possible...

I have a tracker and it works.

It will only identify them if they have the tracker also.

If someone without the tracker visits your page it will tell you what city and state they are in only.

If they leave a comment on your page then you can identify them by the time and add that to the tracker so next time they visit you will know who it is.

If they don't leave a comment then you just have to try to figure out who on your friend list is from that city and state that is showing up on your tracker.

Now there are probably some trackers out there that may be what the pp said.. but there are some real ones also.

I have hitslink and love it. It doesn't tell you "who" is visiting your page (unless they are also registered at hitslink), but rather where the hit is coming from and their isp #. It's really interesting to see all those little dots from across the US and even some from out of the country. It's pretty easy to figure out who your friends are from where it's coming from. Plus, it doesn't ever send out those tracker spam thingys.

So far trakzor hasn't caused any problems for me. I'm good about cleaning out the cache regularly, so maybe I'm kicking the bugs out or something.

DB and I both had Trakzor, MSTracker, and TrackSpace.

They all have good things about them! I still have them installed on my profile, but never check my visitors anymore. We only got them because he had this psycho ex who was stalking both of us and they were really helpful!

They list browser, city/state, IP address, all sorts of fun stuff. We were able to tell that this chick looked at both our profiles several times a day

And no - they are NOT full of spam and ads on your account. Some might be, but they're not all like that. The 3 I listed are totally safe

PS - Even if you sign up for one and it says "click here to post a bulletin to tell your friends!", you don't have to. If there's no 'no thanks' button, you can always just leave. I think one of the 3 did that, but they always ask first - they won't post bulletins without your permission.

There were two programs that would actually show the profiles that were visiting yours. They both got shut down a couple years ago.

I have mixmap on mine and it is hidden, so when you visit my page you don't know you are leaving your location and ip address. But it doesn't tell you the person's name. I installed it because I wanted to see how many Nigerians were visiting, they used to be huge on myspace, posting false photos and then trying to get friendly with you.........for a future scam I guess. I have not noticed any spam from this site and it sends me a weekly report on how many visits I have had and locations.

What is an ip address? And if you don't belong to Myspace does it still give people this info when you look at their page?

I might have to switch to mixmap. I don't like that trakzor shows up on your page for everyone to see so it defeats the purpose.
