Has anyone here gone? My sister and I are taking a mini vacation there in August. We booked medieval times and are planning on going to Senior frog as we went to one in the Bahamas and had a blast. What did everyone else love and did they have a good time at these places?

We were in Myrtle Beach last June with my entire family. It was GREAT! Be prepared for crazy nasty humidity. So plan your days accordingly. We preferred to be out early doing the active things and in the pool or in air conditioning in the bad heat of the day. And then back out again later in the afternoon. We had 4 kids with us so this worked out well.

I don't know about Senor Frogs or Medieval Times. We all loved Broadway at the Beach and the Barefoot shopping complex. B'way at the beach is fun in the evening, lots of restaurants, bars, neat shops, etc. We went to Damon's which is right on the water and we enjoyed that meal. We also did the alligator place which was fun with the kids.

ETA: I forgot that we also saw the 'Good Vibrations' show at the Carolina Opry. Music from the 60s, 70s, 80s. We loved it. (My sis, BIL, DH and I went.) We're old, though...LOL!

We love Myrtle Beach!! Myrtle Waves is a lot of fun and we also had a blast at the Aquarium. That was also the first place we went to an IMAX theater! There are a lot of fun miniature golf courses and the Nascar park is great. My favorite thing is Dixie Stampede!! I just love the food they serve there and it's entertaining too! Depending on the hotel you are staying at, you may have several pool/ lazy river options too.

I am excited for the lazy river at the place we are staying. I am also nervous about the heat/humidity, I am a Maine girl and don't do well in the heat for long times

I hear ya! Definitely try to plan outdoor things (like Nascar Speedpark, I forgot about that, we all had lots of fun there) for 'rope drop' (LOL) and then head back for a swim and lunch at your hotel or out to lunch and then a nap. And then head back out at 5p or later.

Senor Frogs at Myrtle Beach isn't all that great but you'll be at Broadway which has lots of bars and stuff that really are a lot of fun, they have a really good dueling piano bar if you're into those, I'm pretty sure it's called Crocodile Rocks.

:scared1: now I am sad. This was going to be our opener for the trip. We thought a little Senor frog would start the trip right.

Was it dirty, not fun, ect?

We go to MB often and actually will be there for a week in August. We have the old standby's that we love, like...

Dino's - for breakfast
Dixie Stampede - love the vegetable soup!
Dick's Last Resort - not your average restaurant/bar - check out their website
Broadway at the beach & Barefoot Landing - we love to shop!
Peaches on the corner - best hotdogs around.
Seafood Buffets - many to choose from.
Gay Dolphin - step back in time - reminds me of my childhood! Anyone want a license plate with their name on it???
Myrtle Waves - nice water park.
Nascar Speedpark - if you like racing this is your place!

We are going to try the Freestyle Music Park this time as it is fairly new. It was the Hard Rock Park, but it closed.

That is all I could think of off the top of my head. Like most living in North and South Carolina - we were raised at MB. I actually met my husband there during Graduation Week - 25 years ago!:confused3

It can be hit/miss depending on how festive the crowd is that night. Margaritaville, Crocodile Rocks are also there, so you could check them both out.

Humidity can be a crazy in August, on the beach you dont seem to notice it as much but away from breeze & it hits hard!!

Thanks for all the great advice everyone!!! Please feel free to keep it coming along with why things are you favorite.
I am excited to try Margaritaville, it is on our list of things we have to do

Dicks last resort looks really fun!!!! Thanks!!!!

There's a restaurant right behind Olive Garden called Joe's Bar and grill (don't let the name fool you). It's a nice place and their steak is to die for. :thumbsup2

We spend two weeks in MB every May. Love it there.

I hate the heat and humidity too and I've lived in FL and NC nearly all my life!

I've only been to Myrtle Beach once and we hung out at Broadway at the Beach, ate at Margaritaville and Joe's Crab Shack and played MagiQuest. Never did get to the beach tho....

What did you think of MagiQuest. My sister has done it before and loved it, but the website is not very descriptive

DD14 and I were there two years ago for a band trip. Stayed at Crown Reef http://www.crownreef.com/, and did Medieval Times as band festival awards presentation. MT was neat, but a little pricey for the fixed amount of food you get, they don't give seconds, so if you are big eaters you may be surprised. THe show was fun, but a bit long. We also did Broadway at the BEach which wasfun, we dined at M'ville, typical food quality. Lots of shops. I will say that east coast beaches are different, sand is much coarser and not white like the gulf coast beaches. THe strip area is pretty tourist trap-py too. I don't plan to go back (unless forced by a band trip)

I thought it was pretty cool. You have to go on little quests to get the spells you'd need to go on bigger quests. And you can also duel with other players provided you have points to do so. And you can also gain treasure too, but I don't recall what you can "spend" it on....

I've heard they've got one in Concord Mills outside of Charlotte, NC but haven't been there yet. Some friends went but I had to work.

I've never been, but I heard that the Freestyle Music Park is pretty neat. They have a deal for 2 tickets for $17.76 right now too. Just have to be there before 4pm.

I'm actually here right now :) My family has a 2nd house down here & we love it!

Like everyone said there's so many resteraunts and places to go.
Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing are EXCELLENT places to go to walk around. Fun shops and things like that.

As for shows, we loved One. It's a mix of all different types of music and has a little bit of comedy. It's nice.

Feel free to PM me for any additional info (prices or whatever). We're here till Tuesday! :D

I'm 15 & we've been going there since it opened up lol. I love it! I feel like I'm in Hogwarts lol.
It's interactive and really fun. What exactly did you want to know about it?

Freestyle Music Park is a great one day thing. It's NEVER packed. Because of the deal, it's a fun thing to do. We went the other day around 11 and got down around 1:30-3ish I think. I can't really remember. It's quick but it's no Disney/Universal that's for sure.

They used to have like candy, wand toppers, etc. to buy but they got rid of that.
Now you can buy 15% off coupons, 30 minutes of game time, etc.

We liked Dixie Stampede better than Medieval Times but both were fun. We LOVED Dicks Last Resort! We liked Myrtle Wheels and Water ( I think that was the name of it) better than Myrtle Waves!
