Myrtle Beach to FT. Wilderness (fishing ??)

We are about to make our 1st RV trip to Disney. Can't wait. Along the way we are stopping at Myrtle Beach (beginning of Oct).
This time of the year, along the beach in NJ surf fishing, Stripers can be hot if the Bluefish don't show up. Blues are fun to catch, but they don't eat (ughh), like they fight.
This time of the year what can I expect off the beach at Myrtle Beach. What fish are around, what bait, what lures, etc. I also have an Ocean Kayak that I can use in back bays or Murrells inlet (incoming tide). Gotta be some fisher people out there that can give me some clues.
