Looking for a upscale(not necessarily luxury) hotel with pool options, lazy river, ect.
Prefer kitchen in room( for breakfast and lunch).

We have always stayed at the Crown Reef in the past. It has been at least 6 years since we were there, and I have read some unfavorable reports on the Crown Reef. We had only positive experiences in the past, however, I am afraid time might have changed things.

We have about 5-6 nights there.

Thanks guys!

We have stayed at the Breakers Paradise Tower a couple of times. While it is not "upscale", it was very nice. And the kids loved the lazy river and the other pools.

You might go to www.funbeaches.com. It is a message board run by a Myrtle Beach local. And there are a lot of locals who post and can give a lot of good information.

One more thing.......if you like BBQ - specifically ribs - go to T-Bones (not T-Bonz) in Murrell's Inlet.

We've never stayed at either of these but they look fun. www.dunesvillage.com and also www.seamist.com
I am going to try to book one of them if we go to Myrtle this year but right now we're considering a Florida beach.

Check Beach Cove Resort--they were begining to refurb a few years ago. It's very close to Barefoot Landings.

search on the budget board - there's a long thread w/hotel recommendations:thumbsup2

We luv, luv, luv the Crown Reef - last trip '05; other than chair hogs it was sublime.:) I take reviews on trip advisor w/a grain of salt...rely more on AAA ratings.

www.kingstonplantation.com This is a gated community with an Embassy Suites, Hilton, condo towers and townhouses. It is in a great location, just off Restaurant Row. We stay here every time!

Love the suites at LongBay Resort. Very clean and have their own Starbucks:thumbsup2

Check out Avista Resort. I haven't been there personally, but I know people who have and liked it. I think it's in North Myrtle if that matters.

I second Kingston Plantation! Been a Myrtle Beacher all my life, and KP is our favorite. We rent a condo in Brighton, so I can't really say how the hotel rooms are, but all the shared areas (pools, etc) are very nice.

Does it have to be a hotel?

A friend of mine owns a few condos. The website is
Myrtle-beachresorts.com

A third vote for Kingston Plantations. We've stayed at the Patricia Grand, Beach Cove (ants in room), Ocean Creek Resort and the Beach Club...home of Ocean Annie's bar on the beach (someone tried to break into our room, 2 years in a row, should have learned the first time). At Kingston we rented a condo in the North Tower, friends stayed in the villas all were clean, beautiful and safe.
