MyPoints Rainforest GC costs more points

Just went to cash out for the Rainforest card, only to find that it is now 3,700 pts. Last time I cashed out in the fall, it was 3,600. Used to be 3,500...

Well, I'll have to wait for a few more things to credit. I'm not surprised, really. Seems like a lot of the sites are experiencing "point inflation" while having fewer opportunities to earn points. Sigh.

I've been a member for about 10 years, it's definitely not what it used to be. They have gone up on a lot of things recently.

Not only that, but most of their emails no longer have the 5 points just for clicking thru. I get probably 6-10 emails from them daily. One is always their "Daily Deals" (no points) and then there will be another 5 or 6 click-thru's and a survey or two. Of those 5 or 6 click-thru's, only 1 or 2 will be worth 5 points for clicking. It used to be that pretty much every email was worth 5 points.

Yup. And Opinion Outpost, which used to be one of my best earners, is the same way. It used to be that every survey was worth something, but now the majority they expect you to do for free. Well, forget that!

So it is not just me that noticed that most emails are now point-less (hee, hee I made a funny) - thought I was going crazy!

I have been keeping an eye on those Landr/RC GCs but for the life of me I cannot think of when they changed the points on them. They did the same thing with the Shell cards a few months back. I had written down how much they were back in June while planning a trip to DLR. When I went to get them in August they were 200 points more!

I've been on Mypoints for 9 years and the points have been steadily going up for redemptions for the last few years at least. I agree on the lack of 5-point click thru emails going down too. Plus I've noticed that they are dropping some of the merchants they use (like Overstock.. I always went thru Mypoints when I shopped at Overstock. Then one day it just disappeared) and/or lowering the amt of points per dollar on their merchants. All in all it's an ok problem for shopping, but not what it used to be.

Yeah, when I ordered our RFC gift card the other day, I noticed that too.
Also, noticed the (point-less) e-mails, and worst of all last year, they took E-bay off of their shopping list. That's the way I earned the biggest part of my points.
I still will use MyPoints, since I seem to have more luck with them than any other reward site, (gave up all together on Quick Rewards), but it takes waaaayy longer to get enough points for anything now.
