MyMagic+ testing beginning for Annual Passholders

we have the annual pass, and have stayed at Disney hotels 3 times since MDE/FP+ roll-out started. They have had the 7-day limit(with the rolling 60 day time frame) for all 3 of our visits. We had a 3 night stay, followed by a 4 night stay, and then another 4 night...had to wait until after the first night was over to begin booking the 3rd set so they definitely enforced the 7-day-limit of 3 per day. MDE was linked to the hotel stays & the annual pass was on the band so we were able to use the Magic Bands to get in the park just like the regular tickets on the Magic Bands. I really do not understand how they can link the passes to the Magic Bands...and know who you are when you enter the park...and NOT see that it is an annual pass for purchasing discounts and parking lot access (why could the guards at the kiosk not scan the band? Wouldn't take them any longer than looking at your card.)

As for the carrying the annual passholder card in addition to the Magic Band...yes, it is a PAIN IN THE REAR! We did not have to show it for parking, because we had the resort tag on the dashboard showing we were staying at Disney resort. But we did have to pull it out with photo ID for every discount purchase we made...so we were using 3 items to purchase anything: the Magic Band to charge to the room, the annual passholder card to get the discount and the photo ID to prove it was actually me using the annual passholder card. Again, since they know who you are when the scan the Magic Band for purchase, why not just ask for ID to verify the right person is using the Magic Band and give the discount without having the separate passholder card?

I joked that I could not see why Mickey didn't just "scan" my DNA through the Magic Band and know it's me.:faint:

Ahh, good to know. Thanks. I've only ever been asked to do onsite surveys before. I was sort of hoping they were gonna pick us for the AP testing. ;)
My experience is similar, though sometimes even longer, 2 or 3 weeks.

we have APs are staying on site (right this very minute) - staying 8 nights 9 days and made FP+ arrangements for ALL 9 days at the 61 day mark (yes, one day early don't know why it let me do that but I didn't ask!)

So if you are staying onsite (in my experience - we were also here in November with AP and MB) you can make FP arrangements for all the days you are on site (not just 7).

I haven't tried to make more than the 9 days at this point (since I don't need to) but I heavily suspect I wouldn't be able to until I was down to less than 7 days...

Starting to see that this is our last set of APs.

Each change takes away the benefits of the AP.

This, new TIW blackouts. Ugh! $10 charge if you change your mind on where you want to eat. Even the top NYC restaurants do not do that.

It was a great 23 year run of Disney vacations, but we are done.

It would seem that the majority of the usage for the separate card would be to instantly identify who has free parking and who does not. Perhaps the separate card will be eliminated once they work out the bugs for magic bands and parking.

Are there AP's that don't have free parking now? I always thought that was one of the benefits of having one:confused3 Just wondering when I saw that some now would not have it.

Seasonal Passes and Weekday Select Passes which are only available to FL Residents do not include parking.

depends on what type of annual pass you have seasonal pass holders do not have Complimentary parking there for thats the reason between a gold and black discount card being for seasonal passholders
