I really hate that we will still have to have a separate card that shows we are eligible for AP discounts.
I really don't see the point of this. I can see why they'd still want to check a photo ID, but I don't see why you would still need a separate physical card to show you are a passholder.
Whenever a MagicBand is scanned, it shows your name. I'm sure they could add in a few lines of code which would query the ticket type associated with your account. If it is an AP, it should just tell the cashier that you are. Better yet, it could automatically deduct your discount without any intervention from the cashier.
I agree. Seems like we are asking for the world with this but oh well what can you do. You should still have to provide ID when using a discount so the name on the scanned ban (which should populate on the screen) should match the name on the ID hence no giving out your discounts.
It would seem that the majority of the usage for the separate card would be to instantly identify who has free parking and who does not. Perhaps the separate card will be eliminated once they work out the bugs for magic bands and parking.

You see this is MY major worry. 7 days FP+ reservations and then you have to wait 60 days before you can make any more. We travel from Australia and stay for 14 days or more at a time. We always buy AP's for the deep accommodation discounts we get and the fact that it works out cheaper on park entry tickets. IF when all this is finally rolled out AP holders are only allowed to book 7 days worth of FP's and are then locked out for 60 days until they can make more, we will be forced into buying say 2 x 7 days of tickets which will definitely be more expensive AND we will not be eligible for all the discounts we currently get, not to mention the fact that we will have to pay more for park hopper privileges which are included in the AP. This has been my worry all along with the new system. This is what will be the make or break rule for us regarding returning trips to WDW.![]()

Where did you get this understanding? LOL
It is a rolling 60 day window in which you can only hold 7 days worth at a time. So make 7 and on the first day make the 8th, and so on. As you se one day up another become available.
My husband and I (with our 2 year old) were at the parks on Saturday, and we are annual passholders. We were stopped in new Fantasyland and asked if we could do a 30 second survey. They asked our zipcode and then asked if we were passholders. We said yes and he said 'Great!' and asked if he could email us some questions and information about our experiences. We said sure and gave hime the email. (We do not have magic bands at this point.) However we have yet to have gotten any kind of email from Disney so ??
Anytime Disney has asked me to participate in an email survey, it usually takes at least 5 to 7 days to arrive.
