Just curious, has anyone spoken with the folks at Undercover Tourist about this? It's not their fault that MDE isn't working, but I wonder if they would be willing to issue a refund or exchange tickets.

Shelli

Well, I wouldn't put the pressure on them, because as far as we know they work perfectly fine to get in to the park... :)

And exchange for what? If it is paper vs. plastic, if they are giving plastic tickets it is because it is what they are given by Disney and they don't have any more "paper" ones of that type. They might still have some of another number of days/different features, but eventually they will all be gone.

Once you link can't return they are yours ... Besides these are Disney real RFID tickets its a problem on their side that they should fix.. There's gonna be plenty more people needing to link UT tickets.

I don't know why, but some CMs can/will do things others cannot. Many times I have had one CM at one GR tell me no, that absolutely cannot not be done, or give me a price waaaay higher than I know to be true - then I try another GR the next day or on the way back out of the park and they know exactly what I am talking about and make it happen. This always happens to me around upgrading/adding to tickets. It's always been worth it to me to check and check again. Good luck! Parts of this transition are way too stressful.

I spent 40 minutes on the phone with IT getting my DVC reservation onto MDX and now I can't log into the DVC site today. For all her good intentions she has somehow altered my DVC login now.

bjakmom So sorry to read of your issue, having another issue pop up due to IT trying to "fix" my current issue is why I am tempted to leave well enough alone.

I just got off the phone with Sharlene (sp?) from the IT line (407-939-7849). I had to call b/c my RFID 8 day PH passes from UCT weren't showing up under My Reservations on MDX, and it was not allowing me to make FP+ choices.

She was super helpful and friendly, and seemed to know what I was talking about immediately. She was able to get into my account and see that our tix were showing up only under Magic Bands and Cards, but not under My Reservations. My son's ticket, on the other hand, showed up under My Reservations and was set up correctly (his was the old paper style). It was letting me make FP+ for him, but no one else.

She said they upgraded the linking system recently and it had some problems. She said that in order to make FP+ reservations your tix have to show up under my reservations on MDX. In her words mine were "half linked" since I saw them under Magic Bands and Cards, but not My Reservations. She said she would escalate it and it would be fixed, and she gave me the choice of having her call me or email me when it was done. She said they were doing it in order of check in dates, so she didn't know how long it would be but that it would be fixed. She never asked or said anything about the tix being from UCT.

She also said that I could go ahead and make FP+ reservations for my son, and when my DH and my tix are linked either I or she could then copy all of his FP+ to us. She said as they are still testing there is a lot of availability time-wise, and there would not be a problem with the times I chose for him not being still available for us. She also said if there happened to be a problem with getting the same times (if I'm unlucky and pick a super popular time for the attraction, I guess) that she could over-ride that and get us the same times.

I asked her about when it would fully roll out, and she said that she didn't know but that they had opened it to all resort guests at all resorts. I'm not sure if she meant now, or October when we go.

So I'm hopeful this will all work, and I'm excited that I can go ahead and make FP+ now before my problem is solved. We leave one month from yesterday!

Oddly enough, I just got an email invitation to join the test, and a written invitation came by Fed Ex yesterday! Weird, as they are opening it to everyone, so I don't see the need to do that unless they are fed-exing an invitation to everyone at every resort. Also silly that the invitation came after we got our customized Magic Bands. i guess if I hadn't been aware it would have mattered, and maybe most people aren't.

ninafelix this s exactly my issue too. except of course with no offer to escalate my issue to be fixed at all:sad1:

What s ironic I waited purposely for UT to run out of paper tickets and ordered the plastic RFID tickets thinking HAHA :rotfl2: these would not be an issue since Disney was selling the RFID tix

Are they suppose to be working on your issue also?

No! Thursday the CM in IT told me I must not have had everything shared and that was why my tickets were not showing in My Reservations.

Today the CM said it was because I bought my tix thru UT and would have to go to guest services once in WDW

I still kind of late to the whole FP+ details as I didn't think we would using it but now we are. I booked all the FP+ I wanted Thursday night and am now tweaking the times. Our MB have to be customized by 9/19. Please confirm that I can still makes change for FP+ after that date?

TIA

Yes you can make changes to FP's up until the time of the FP window (and even afterwards if you miss the FP window). The customizing part is for picking out your colors and the shipping address. :)

Out of curiosity... Anyone know why my mom's reservation doesn't show her having MBs? She checks in the same day we do, and the day before my grandparents. We all can customize ours, but she cannot. I linked her AP and she can make FP+ selections.

I assume she and my dad will just get the gray bands if she doesn't have the option to customize? And she is within the customizing window at AoA 10/18-23.

From what I have read in other treads, no. Tickets must be linked to your account, however. If your check in date is after Oct. 31, you cannot customize your MBs or FP+. I believe things are slightly different for AP holders.

for folks who are waiting for the "call back" - I wouldn't bother. They apparently NEVER call back.

Just keep calling the IT number. It seems there are varying degrees of expertise (being politically correct) with the folks answering the phones. The same issue can have 3 different outcomes-
A) the CM does something stupid to your account and makes it worse,
B)the CM doesn't know how to fix it but thankfully doesn't make it worse and gives you the story about "i have to pass it on, in a few days it will be fixed, and someone will call you back,
or
C) they actually know what they are doing and fix it.

could be that there are real cases where punting it to someone else (B) is necessary. But for the times my family has had to call we eventually were able to get someone who knows what they are doing even though more than once we got the "have to have someone call you back" story. One time we also got a person that made things worse. But in the end we got people on the phone that were able to fix our issues.

Did you have a half linked park ticket that showed up in cards MB but not under reservations?

Mike,

How did you get access to someone who could actually fix your problem? Was it just dumb luck, did you ask to speak with a supervisor, or something else? What phone number did you call? I sure would like to know!!

Thanks,
Shelli

We have a stay coming up in 3 weeks. we are recieving magic bands, but we already have a set. Will both be active? do I need to do anything to manage this?:confused3

Dropping in for two q's-

1. With our reservations/stays happening at the end of October, I checked Disney, and it gave us the option to customize and ship our MagicBands. Any idea how 'soon' they arrive once you've done that? Or do they only show up a set time before your stay?

2- Bought our park tickets from a third party (Orbitz), they're WILL CALL. I can't call and have them linked to us, can I? Which means we can't pick anything for FP+ until the day we get them, right? :(

I'm not totally sure at this point. I believe they show up pretty quickly after they say they've shipped shortly after the displayed deadline for customizing. They don't seem to be adhering to the "10 day" limit they stated before, at least not yet.

If you have the Disney Will-Call barcode number, you can register them in your profile.

We arrive the first week in October, and the CM I spoke to today told m that h bands will ship over night and that I should get them next week.
