Well then if there is anyone out there that wants a night at POP on Oct 26th, they can have it. I'm sure we can work it out somehow.

If opinions on this board are that important to you, I must step up and say that I think there is nothing wrong with paying for a night in a room that you don't use. You sound like a loving Grandma to a little girl who tough start in life. However, no rationalization is necessary. If I wasn't already staying at POP for my entire stay, I may have done the same thing for my adult babies. ::yes::
Enjoy your vacation!

I would tend to agree with your assessment here... Even though we don't take full use of the FP system, i.e. rope drop, grabbing as many as possible through out the day, it would be nice to schedule a few e-ticket rides here any there. We grab a few (one or two a day on average) for the rides we MUST do... Others, we deal with lines if we want to ride. Kinda wherever the flow takes us.

That being said, I don't think I would shell out $100.00 for the ability to schedule FPs. As for the magic bands, I really want to try them and hope they are available for my resort when we go in Nov but I believe KTTW does the same thing except that its not strapped to your wrist...

Does anyone know if there are things that cannot be done with KTTW that can with MBs, i.e. charging, park entrance, room entrance?

The whole point to this us to get the magic bands and schedule the FP+'s then cancel the res...so you aren't actually paying the extra money... It has worked well for some that want to try out the bands but aren't staying at a testing resort.

I'm just curious what happens if what the cm i talked too is right that when u transfer or checking to the new resort a non testing one the fast passes don't work

They aren't correct. Plenty of people are presently doing this and its working perfectly for them

Thank you very much. :):):):)

Here are my questions- I know that I'll be using the magic bands for the first four nights at YC. Beginning on my check out day at YC/check in day at CBR, will I still be using the magic band for my tickets for the last two days of my vacation? But, my charging privileges and room key will be on a new KTTW card from CBR? Is that right? Or will be room key for CBR and charging privileges also be on the magic band.

Depends on how savvy CBR CMs are at linking up to your MB at that point to the reservation. From the sounds of it in general, most resort CMs can handle it already.

Last, will I be able to use SAB with my magic band on my check out day from YC after I've checked out?

You can use the resort facilities on your check-out day. Haven't heard if they are using MBs for verification, or just the KTTW cards still.

Are you actually staying the night at POP? It's not right to take a room from someone just because you want a MB. This takes away from those who actually want to stay at POP.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

I don't see the issue if they are staying at the room and using it...

We are doing a split stay and the 2nd stay with our package we are using magic bands.Anyone know If I pick up my tickets a day early, will I be able to add another day during my stay just for the tickets I get early?

I agree with you both. If you are going to stay at the resort you book for the MB, then you should stay there or at least cancel it in time for someone else to get the room. To book and even pay for the room with no intention of staying there just seems wrong to me. I know it's their money, none of my business, and not hurting Disney, but it may take away the opportunity for someone else. My resort, BC, seems to be booked solid when we are there according to the website. I am sure other resorts are also close to full...fall used to be quiet, but food and wine and MNSSHP, as well as the ToT run are legitimately filling rooms. Just my opinion, we are all entitled to them...but it makes me sad that there are so many arguments on here over what was meant to be the Happiest Place on Earth.
Hope you all have Magical Trips...where ever you are staying!

Sorry to hear about your granddaughter's situation and hope you have a wonderful visit. Nevertheless, I stand by my comment regarding it being wrong to take rooms at a value resort just to assure you get MBs and FP+. The dream your family has of coming to WDW is likely akin to that held by many families, so why take up more reservation slots than need be? I know that when I go in November, it will be our first and possibly last trip to WDW. It will be just as meaningful to us.

This is hilarious. Really. I hate to break it to you but the resort is not full nor are any other of the hotels. Disney is gleeful to take any money people want to throw their way.

Since you have never been to WDW, let me tell you that 3 extra FP per day means nothing. People will either use just FP+ or FP standard. 90% of the people wearing bands are flat out clueless about how to even use them. There is a small minority that will be double dipping and skillfully doing so.

If you let what others can do dictate the mood of your vacation then you are setting yourself up for a miserable time. There will be all sorts of people getting things that you can't get. It is pointless to worry about it.

And there will be plenty of hotel rooms for everyone who wants them. LOL

And you'll probably want to trade the UT ticket in for an RFID card at one of the ticket booths. You'll be able to get in easier. But you'll use it just the same - no difference, as it will also have the magstripe to use in the Fastpass machines.[/QUOTE]
Thanks - all made sense to me, only one clarification. If I have MB to get in park and for FP+, why trade in paper UT ticket? Would just be keeping paper ticket for regular FP.

Totally agree with this. Disney doesn't care if you occupy the room as long as you pay for it. There is no requirement to actually occupy a room. as far as taking a room from another family I don't buy that argument at all. There are thousands of hotel rooms in and near WDW and I doubt they are all booked in October, if ever. But it doesn't matter because as long as you book the room and pay for it, it is yours for the night to stay in or not and you are entitled to all of the extras that come with paying for that room. It's just business.

Well, part of your question was about not linking the UT ticket. If you don't link it, you can't use the MB or KTTW card to get in - only the UT ticket.

If you link it, you can use any of them to enter the park, so it won't matter as much, but if you wanted to use the UT ticket to enter, you'll find it a lot easier to get the RFID card for it.

Couldn't agree more. I don't think the 3 extra FPs are worth it. Nor do I think people should worry about what "extras" others are getting.

I couldn't agree more. Use your money the way YOU want. Make your Disney experience how YOU want it. I went the same week as you last year. Did 2 MNSSHP. Friends and family thought I just wasted my $$ and can't believe I paid over $5000 for my trip But I made memories, and had the trip I wanted and its been a year and I don't regret a single cent. Live everyday like its your last. God forbid anything was to happen to you, but if something did how would you want your granddaughter to remember this trip. 25 years from now, how do you want her to look back on this trip? Also if you look on all the websites where Disney's busy times are and capacity Sept and October all the way to week before Thanksgiving are low points. Which means you aren't depriving anyone of their room. Don't let anyone here make you feel guilty about the magic you are giving your granddaughter. Have a amazing trip.

I sincerely apologize if this has been asked. I have read through much of the thread, but didn't find the answer to my questions.

We have purchased 10 day passes for our upcoming November trip, however, we intend to upgrade to annual passes once we get there.

1. Can we link our 10 day passes to MagicBands, and then upgrade to annual passes once we get there?

2. IF they are still testing in November, AND we are able to upgrade to annual passes, will any fastpass reservations be transferred to the new annual pass?

3. Finally, where is the list of which resorts are testing the system?

Thank you so much!!!!

That's the thing about Disney World, and I do have remind myself of this too. There are so many wonderful things to do there, that if you miss something, no big deal. There are probably about 30 other things that you could do or see in it's place, and all within walking distance! If we had not heard of magicbands, we would be blissfully enjoying ourselves, unaware at the parks, using regular old FP! As far as the kids, I've been trying to remind myself that they have never been, they won't care if they don't do a Pirate Cruise, or go to BBB, or get a magicband for that matter! They don't know any of those exist, and will be in awe of basically EVERYTHING they see!
It kinda reminds (only in reverse) of the time I took all 3 of my kids to the bank and since they always get lollipops there, that's what they wanted, and had colors all picked out. When we got there, they had, oh the horrors, Hershey Kisses! All 3 kids were screaming crying...I was laughing my head off! Some would consider that an upgrade...myself included! For the record, the teller did give me 2 for my troubles. :thumbsup2 And good news, the kids did eat (and enjoy) the Hershey Kisses.
After saying all this, if you ask me if I hope they continue the bands through November for our trip, of course, I'd have to say YES! :guilty:

I certainly hope that I have not made anyone feel guilty. That is not my intention. I hope that all who visit WDW this fall, with or without a ghost reservation, have a great time.

My only point I was trying to make is that it is not right to book a room you do not intend to use. Will there be ample space at WDW during these times? Probably. Will any family be denied a trip because of these ghost reservations? Probably not. However, if you consider that if less than half of the resorts are MB eligible (as of now), in theory, if everybody made such ghost reservations, it would cause many of the values to be full. It's my understanding that with free dining, many are quite full already (at least the rooms eligible for free dining). I would hate for somebody else's dream of a fall WDW vacation or even a last-minute weekend trip be denied just so a few of us could get MBs.

I am sorry that this got blown out of proportion. Agree to disagree I suppose. Regardless, have a magical WDW stay!

Here's an idea... how bout we stick with the thread topic? Posters are getting lost in your burning and arguing..
