Is anyone else hearing that there will not be testing in November and December? This was recently posted on the November invite board:

An update from WDW Technical :

The Magic Bend testing only runs up to the end of Oct, so those of us who are checking in from 1st Nov onwards shouldnt have the ability to book any FP+ or customise any Magic Bands.

Guests that check in on or before the 31st Oct and are in the testing resorts will have the option to do this for their entire stay. But they are currently not adding any November/December guests into the testing mix.

She said that there would be an email (heard that before..!) going out to all November check ins if the testing phase is extended into the month. But currently we are not able to do anything more than simply online check in and continue to book ADRS.

Hope this helps some of you!

Oh and the issue of tickets not appearing in your recervations for other members of your party is all down to the setting that that person has in their " my friends and family" section. It needs to be set at "View all my activities".

That other post doesn't say there is NO testing, which was implied in the previous post. Only that they are currently not adding anyone to testing in November. And basically says that if testing continues, people would be notified.

A FAR cry from saying there will be no testing...
 
seems like nothing has been released for the last few days of September or October dates yet.

Do you think that is true for Sept 27th??? That was my first choice, but there was no availability. I made one for the 24th, but the system wouldn't let me check availability for the 27th without cancelling what I already have.:scared: What to do...what to do???:confused3
 
Just booked for October 10-14. On MDE, it shows Magic Band order for 4 but I don't see where I can customize them. It has confirm shipping address button but I do not want to click on anything yet and mess it up. We have 38 days until arrival. Is it too early to customize? When should I be able to select FP+ options? We are staying at Pop Century.

ETA: I went to MDE on my phone and everything showed up. I was able to customize the bands and make FP+ selections. I had to verify the shipping address before it would let me customize.
 

Ok group, I've got a question!

I've been reading a lot about ghost reservations being made at a MB testing resort (usually POP), checking in online, but never physically checking in. Then checking in (both online and physically) at their real resort (albeit a non MB testing one) at the proper time.
This apparently gets these folks MB for their entire stay - including the non MB testing resorts. So far the only glitch some have noted is that although they are able to choose FP+ ahead of time, they are unable to change them on the fly once their real dates start.

So, what have y'all heard about this, and what are your thoughts? We're staying at WL, which doesn't seem to have a chance in heck of getting MB. But from what I'm reading, a dummy/ghost reservation at POP would get me MB for our whole trip. I'm beginning to think that an extra $130 on a ghost reservation would be worth it to get MB for our whole trip.

Please give me your thoughts, comments, complaints, suggestions, reprimands, what have you! Good, bad or indifferent, let me know what you think, please!

So what your saying is you reserve a room but don't stay in it just to get the fastpass+

yes. sounds crazy, but after all the money i've already sunk into this vacation, it's a drop in the bucket to be able to get MB and FP+. :confused3

Okay-I am crazy too. We are Los at WL and were bummed about not being able to try MB, we have a room at POP for the first night- which gave us the ability to customize and FP+. from a customer service stand point, i think they will continue to let them work, otherwise there may be a t of people who had split stays that will lose their FP+ that the website let them book. Hopefully, it will work for our whole trip but if it doesn't I know we will still have a great trip!

We are arriving at WDW POR September 11 for 10 days. We have customised magic bands but being half way round the world I guess we will pick them up at the resort upon checking in.

Not too keen on using fastpass+ though. Does anyone know if fastpass+ will be compulsory for us, or will we have the option of regular old school fast passes as well.

Assuming nothing changes, you can use BOTH.
 
Can anyone explain to me how staying on site but using an annual pass is going to work in terms of Magic Bands and Fastpass+? We are getting 2 day MYW tickets because we are taking advantage of free dining, but we are not using those, we will be using our annual passes.
We are staying at POR in November.

I was FINALLY able to schedule all our FP+ for our stay in two weeks. I never received a call back from IT, but I have been on my MDE account like white on rice regularly to know what they are doing.
First, they moved my ressie to my "real" account with my and my son's AP on it, so now my real MDE account is the primary guest on the ressie. Then they listed my DH's profile that has his AP to the ressie (his profile with the AP is on my "other" account). So, as I schedule FP+ for my son and myself, I then log out of my "real" MDE account and into my "other" account to copy my schedule to my DH's.
Those problem solving skills gained through junior high gifted classes and journalism research skills are really starting to pay off now! DH thinks FPs times are wide open for us because no one can figure the sucker out! (and he writes computer programs for a living).

Well, assuming testing continues into November... :)

I'm not 100% on the procedures - don't recall someone mentioning doing it quite this way yet.

You should probably "deactivate" the package tickets in your profile. Only the APs should be active.

When checking in, you should also make sure that the package tickets are not the active tickets for the MagicBands, and the APs will be used. Ask them to issue those as separate physical tickets for future use.

Looks like now we may be adding another person to our reservation for part of our trip. Once she gets added on will I be able to get her a magic band or will it be too late and she will have to get one at the resort? Also, how easy will it be to add her to our already existing fast passes? Thanks!

Just call room reservations and add her.

Then you will need to make sure the added person is on your friends list. You should see an option to update in your reservations.

Put in the correct avatar/person with a confirmation and them customize the new band.

They send the bands out up to 9 days prior I think.

I have done this multiple times for my reservation late September. Each time was easier then the last. Have bands for everyone we added in a couple of days after I changed the reservation.
 
Right now we have 8day PH tickets but are still debating on adding the water park option. We probably will wait to add it until we get down there. We obviously will already have our magic bands already. How does this work with a ticket change?

Ticket changes should work as usual, although there have been some reports that FP+ selections disappeared. I would check your selections right afterwards and talk to the CMs if there was an issue.
 
We're staying at POR starting October 31. We've been included in the testing group.

Aside from what I had already noted regarding the app not recognizing parties larger than 4, I have also found that I am limited to 3 at MK (unlike others who reported being able to get 4 recently). I have also been unable to reserve any parades/fireworks/events using it for the entire 9 days we will be there. The slots just aren't available.

Same here- out check in is oct 31 and FP+ seems pretty limited an hard to use- I don't like this version if this is our test version- wondering if more will open up and also if I will be able to get BOG lunch as a FP option?
