Wonder how this works - is that information on the first page here?

Not sure what you mean. It works the same way it works for your room, charging, meal plans, tickets and FPs. You scan the bands, the Mickey lights up green and they say " right this way HiMagicfan!".

And I have no idea of anyone is maintaining the first post with updates, sorry.

Oh this is good! I thought there was something we were supposed to have done for this and I didn't! Cool - thanks

Is there a reason that they mail the magic bands to your house? Wouldn't it be easier to just pick them up at the hotel (and cheaper for Disney)?

I also think the plan is to skip the check in desk all together. If you do online check in and have your magic bands then there is no reason you can't hit the parks as soon as you land in orlando. Disney will send you a text when your room is ready including the room number and since you have your keys already, you will be good to go.

I'm seeing conflicting info. Do you have to have done online checkin for the FP+ options to appear in MDE? Is there anyone who has selected FP+ without having checked in online?

No you don't have to do it but when u do it seems to automatically make your magic bands appear on the website if your eligible for them

So technically since I did online check in and I will have my bands and tickets linked I should be able to go just to the park right away.

We are switching resorts (from a non FP testing resort) and was going to go to AOA by myself to check in and send the family to MK. I thought I would get our KTTW for the dining plan.. but now that we are part of the test could I just go to the park and the dining plan will be active?

We received the fastpass+ option right after we paid the balance. The Magicbands didn't appear until we di the on-line check-in.

And it is awesome at MCO! No more having to get off the plane, trek over to ME and pull out your voucher! Touchpoint wins again!!

Do you have to have tickets attached or can you just have a reservation?

You will be able to customize MagicBands with just a resort reservation, but you'll need a valid ticket attached to your MDE account to make FP+ reservations.

So, the Magic Bands and FP+ option popped up on MDE today. It says I have 4 MBs, but when I try to choose our FP+ rides, it will only let me choose them for the 2 adults, not the 2 children. Any advice on this? Thanks!

Hi,

We are going to buy an annual pass as we are going in Jan. 2014 and Aug. 2014 but I wasn't planning on getting the APs till we got there. I know that Jan. s not busy but according to what I am reading here, I will not be abe to make any Fast Pass + reservations because I will not have a ticket attached to my reservation. Is that correct?

Thanks for any info!

Are the resorts selected for testing in July and August still using Magic Bands in September and October? Or do they stop using Magic Bands while the other resorts try it out?
