Is it better to schedule FP+ for afternoon even if not park hopping? How long after rope drop are there "no lines" ? When should I schedule the first FP+ ?

Nobody can say for sure.

Some have been told that once they use up their reserved spots they can get more FPs. If that is true I would say schedule earlier in the day. But if you can double dip all day in the test, it wouldn't matter. If it's 3 and done, then I'd go to rope drop and have later day FPs.

I'm glad our part of the test will be a couple of weeks into August. I'll get the benefit of the reports from prior guinea pigs before we get there. Hopefully, there will be enough adjustment flexibility in the FP+ time slots then.

This is true. We don't arrive to the parks until the 17th.

Am I the only one considering NOT using FP+? I don't want to secure less ride times by not using paper FP. I try to get as many of those as I can (albeit in more than 1 park)- just asking

I'm sorry if this has been made clear somewhere in the thread but I missed it. My family will be at WDW Oct. 4-12 staying at POR. Will we have the opportunity to use FP+ and magic bands? Thanks for letting me know.

No one knows when the next test will be. This is the biggest test so far. The upcoming aug one. There have been rumors that Disney is looking for some kind of roll out by FW.. Again all rumors..

We're definitely going to use our first day there (we arrive in the afternoon) but if we don't like it after that, we'll go back to traditional FP.

Do you think 9:05-10:05 for TSMM is a waste of a FP+ when we are eating at H & V at 8:05 before rope drop? Won't we be the first ones to TSMM? I've never eaten in the parks before rd and haven't been to WDW in a long time so help please!

That depends. If you decide to take that time though, I'd ride it at least once standby and use your FP at the very end of the window.

Obviously, if you can schedule even later I would.

Oh good point. I'm hoping my preschooler will like it since it doesn't look like there is much for his age at HS.....I like your idea to max out the slow rope drop stand by rides and then use the FP+ for one more ride.....

By the way, as other posters have eluded to, no standard FP during the next couple tests.

Nice to just throw this out there as a PS.

Does this mean testers won't be getting a KTTW card, or are they somehow disabling the testers' KTTW cards from FP- use?

Will the testers be able to use FP- if they don't select FP on a particular day?

I thought I read posts of people being told they would have a kttw as a back up but couldn't use fp & fp+ at the same park.

I guess we'll see. I hope testers post their experiences.

I'm thankful my visit isn't at the beginning of the test so we'll know ahead of time! I have a feeling reports will be conflicting even then. I've been told twice by phone that we can use both FP+ and our APs for FP-, and once by chat. I'm not counting on it, but I'll certainly be trying.

Mavis: Yes, definitely! You should definitely be able to use your passes for use of the traditional Fastpass® Service and use your MagicBands® for the Disney FastPass®+ for the testing!

I guess it's just my style.

From my understanding, there are multiple tests being conducted over the course of the next month or so with some of those tests allowing guests to use FP and FP+, while others making it mutually exclusive. What Disney is trying to do is see how guests with just FP+ react to the test compared to those with FP and FP+. Mind you, Disney also may make KTTW cards available to testers but not advertise it (meaning you'd have to ask).

I don't know if they are dividing up to the testers into different groups, as much as that they are just giving conflicting info...I think some if some testers find out they can't get FP while others can (as will be found on here), they aren't going to get favorable feedback...oh wait, that's right...they aren't ASKING for feedback this time... :)

Not according to one poster who asked...no surveys or focus groups this time, but you can send feedback anyways.

I called to ask about this and was told that all testers will receive KTTW cards because many places (like TS restaurants) aren't set up to accept Magic Bands yet.

Regarding FP-, I was told that testers can only use FP- on days they don't use FP+.
