But think for a moment about the alternative. Assuming you get three FP+s, you get to choose 3 attractions (let's assume there's no restrictions; three of your choice) but there's no standard FP. If you stay in the same park (so no PH) until 7pm, you've spent 8 hrs in the park. Let's assume your able to get one FP every two hours, so one at 11am, one at 1pm, one at 3pm, and one at 5pm. Right there, you've just gotten four and that's only with 8 hours in the park. You are getting more FP line access with the current system than the new one.

That is only true if your speculation that there will be no additional same-day FPs available is accurate. Just because you won't have access to the current FP machines does not mean that there won't be a mechanism for same-day FPs.

Not sure where you got the idea that you can pick your top 3 choices with FP+. Nobody knows for sure, but every indication so far is that rides will be grouped with only 1 or 2 selections per group, keeping most from choosing all of their favorites.

Not every indication. Remember the comment that with FP+ a person could ride the three mountains in MK without waiting in SB?

sorry if this is a re-post... we are staying onsite but thinking about buying our tickets from undercover tourist instead of disney. if we don't buy from disney.. can we have our tickets transferred to a magic band?? or will i have to use the "old" ticket.

Any guest can get a magic band. AP holders, resort guests, and photo package purchasers will get a band automagically. All others will have an RFID-enabled ticket but can purchase a band, if they wish.

There are so many holes in this it is ridiculous:

1. I am a super planner - I plan my fastpasses and am set to go 60 days out - my in-laws live in Tampa and want to join us for a couple of days on our trip but don't decide until a few weeks before - now there aren't fastpasses available to ride with us. So now either I give up the ones I have plan or tell my in-laws too bad you didn't plan soon enough.

If only they could devise a system where people could decide on the fly, the day they arrive in the park, which rides they want to pull fastpasses for. Sigh. Maybe one day. ;)

I must have missed that one. Unless it was the comment last January from Tom Staggs. I know he said something like that. And yes, I'm sure his kids will indeed continue to ride all 3 mountains without waiting in a standby line.

From what I am being told... day of passes will still be available.

And the site and app are down (have been all afternoon). I LOVE MYMAGIC+! IT'S SO "MAGICAL"!

Even the big man himself is speechless.;)

I wanna keep your thread open 'cause I think it's helpful, and my original comment mighta started a slow descent into madness. Call it a rare case of excessive self-restraint on my part. :)

I really wish the powers that be at Disney would step back and fairly evaluate this new Fastpass+/Magic band etc. thing. I just think that this is a case of spending so much that they feel they have to move forward not matter what the consequences. I think there comes a point when you have worked so hard for something that you can't fairly evaluate it anymore...kinda like loving that ugly chair you built yourself.

Very much appreciated! I should try to show the same self-restraint but it's going to be an upward battle. Regardless, disneyworld.com is back up.

The sight is not fully up and functional. Still can't log in to anything and the pages load very slowly if at all. :rolleyes2

We should allow for the possibility that they know much more about MM+/FP+ than we do and that the correct decision is to actually complete the project and get it up and running.

Exactly! I keep reading these comments and I get confused and wonder if Disney has put out something official about Fastpass+ because people act like all the details are out and they aren't. A lot of you are getting stressed out when the details haven't all been released yet. Trust that Disney has done their research. We will know the details when they want us to know. Don't stress out before you even know what to stress out about! Lol

Questioning the motive of the mymagic+ changes is not stressing out. It also isn't speculation. There is a vast amount of information about this. There are some serious implications. Thoughtful conversations about how this will affect future plans is warranted. Lots of people plan trips one - two years in advance.

A lot of people have collected a lot of information. We have nearly every press release, news story, and first hand experience catalogued. It is very clear where this is headed and why.

People spend thousands of dollars on Disney trips - if the changes are unpalatable, maybe now is the time to visit the real sights and sounds Disney models there parks after. Maybe it's time to see the real liberty bell, the real Carribbean, the real Germany or Rockie Mountains. Visit the national parks and lodges, see the real old faithful.

The conversation around this topic is healthy. I wouldn't recommend to blindly buy into the hype. There are lots of scenarios presented on the FP+ threads that should considered, discussed, and then make a decision.

After reading everything and looking at all sides of the story and everything still sounds like a good investment, then enjoy your trip.

Still, there is a ton of speculation in this thread. If you want to make decisions based on the speculation, that's fine, but that doesn't make the speculation fact, or 'official'.

You have said this 100 times. We have lots of official information from Disney. Until they change it, it is what we should use.

We do have lots of official information. The problem is that people are taking this official information and then extrapolating from it and then taking that speculation and playing a weird game of telephone with it until the end result is completely removed from the official information that was put out by the company.

Isn't that what's supposed to happen on message boards? :goodvibes

Seriously, I trust the readers to evaluate what they are reading and decide for themselves what makes sense and what doesn't.

For example, in my own situation, speculation in January led me to believe that FP+ might be in force by the time of our March trip, but keeping tabs on the topic throughout February led me to the conclusion that there was little likelihood of it coming to pass.

Happily that turned out to be right, and frankly, it doesn't sound at this point like FP+ will be here before the fall (if even then).

This is why the collection of links to all the information is important. Anybody has the opportunity to read the material.

And there is a difference between known information and hope. The biggest sticking point so far is whether or not someone can book three FP+ in advance and then access the regular in the park.

All official language suggests no. It says it clearly in the terms and conditions.
The question has been asked on all forums - it is the biggest question. But Disney is choosing to not respond any differently than the stated terms. They must know, this will be a problem. If the intent was to use both, Disney would have said this and allayed fears. But, right now we have terms and conditions and it says no. Nick Franklin, danced around the topic in his interview. He was very careful about this subject.

Most people are hoping that they have access to both, and are adamant that ths is Disney's intent. But this is clearly speculation, because nothing supports that (except CM stories).

I would encourage people to read the updated terms and conditions. They are clearly stating how the entire program works. They are logical and well defined.

But to be fair, there isn't a specific number listed in the terms for FP+, it says it can vary day to day, season to season, park to park, and even maybe based on your ticket type. But nick Franklin, v.p. in charge of program did specifically say three per person.

But it does clearly say one park per day and you have to choose either the new system or old not both.
