Any update on how FP+ is working for Nemo and Lion King at AK? ( or Beauty and the Beast at HS for that matter)

Is there still not much of any advantage?

...I'm hoping that with FP+, you could get to either of these shows pretty close to them letting the doors open, and then you get first entry. Is this how it's working?

No special seating, just preferred entry ahead of the standby guests. I do not rank any of those you listed as particularly good use of FP+, but YMMV.

Okay, so I'm going to be at Art of Animation October 4th-7th. They somehow had me on two accounts, one with my hotel reservation and the other will all my dining reservations and my annual pass (I suspect this happened when I called in April because my annual pass wasn't connecting to the site so they set it up for me). They moved the hotel reservation over to the account with the park ticket, but it still has the character associated with that other account as the person on the reservation so it's there with a new number but I still apparently have no control over it...

The magic bands, which I already got in the mail, also didn't move over and it won't let me register them even if I deactivate them on the other account. I can't pick any fastpass+ items because it says that it's not in my fastpass+ window yet but I don't even know what my fastpass+ window is because Disney didn't give me any kind of instructions with the wristbands.

Right now, I'm just really confused and lost and frustrated and angry with Disney. I call them to get things fixed and they tell me they fixed it only it never seems to work the way it's supposed to and now this is supposed to be my magical express ticket only I have serious doubts about whether or not it even works. I also don't want to end up hanging out at the front desk for a long time because nothing works and no one can fix it. This is not at all magical.

I typically agree, but we're only planning one AK day. My parents are going with us this year and are a big fan of those shows.

We're trying to squeeze a lot into that one AK day, so using FP+'s might help us make sure we get a good seat, particularly for Nemo.

Lion King has good seats pretty much anywhere, but at Nemo, we like to be next to the center stage that extends back in the crowd since the actors walk right by during the show. In order to get those seats, you need to be there plenty early, but if FP+ helps with that, it could be a nice bonus.

Right now, I have one for KS, one for EE, and one for Dinosaur, but I may flip the Dino for Nemo.

No worries, everyone's situation is different. Have a great time!

I feel your pain. You are not alone. Now I have three or four accounts. I have dinner reservations, food and wine reservations, room reservations, linked tickets, character accounts, family and friend linked accounts and all of those things are mixed up in all three accounts. I am not calling anymore, because I am scared of getting a fourth or fifth account. I am having trouble keeping up with three or four they created for me. But, if I log into them all, I can eventually find things. I am not magicband eligible for my mid October trip, at this point, I wouldn't feel good about linking anything right now. I am going with the flow at food and wine.

Well according to nice person on the phone I will get an email when they unscrew my MDE so I can make FP + reservations.. They are swamped with other poor souks like me and getting to us as who's date to going is closer .. So we shall see

We don't have valid park admission yet as we are going to be getting in each day on a CM's Maingate (Silver) Pass (the new, multi-card Guest Pass "style"; not sure what they are called) but we are staying in a MagicBand testing resort (AKL) and already have our bands.

I know we can't schedule FP+ in advance, but once we are in the park, is there a way that we can use our phones to schedule FP+? Basically, is there a way to let the MDE app know that we are in the park so it will let us schedule FP+ ourselves that day without having to go to a kiosk? Can we go to Guest Relations and have them add our admission to the bands each day?

I know we can use the traditional FP system, no worries there, but I'd love to test out the FP+ system. Does anyone have any experience with this or know how the logistics work in this kind of situation?

If not, no biggie, we'll use FP-, but just curious...

You can schedule FP+ with the phone app, but I think you need the ticket media linked with your profile. Not sure if that can be done with a maingate/silver pass at this point, or if they know that since you are in the park anyways, that enables it.

CMs are currently not eligible for fastpass+ unless they buy tickets. We have been told we and our guests will not be able to use the fastpass+ system for at least a few months (unless you buy tickets or win one if the CM test contests) and were specifically instructed not to link any Maingate passes or comp admission tickets until further notice.

I also wondered if the GPS would do it, but by the response below, guess not. Good theory, though! Thanks!

Ahhh, ok, thanks. I had read something a few months ago that the CM had to schedule the FP+ from the Hub or something but hadn't heard anything in a long while.

Thank you both for the responses. No worries on FP+, the FP- system will work just fine for us. I'm assuming these new guest passes that come with the Maingate/Silver are what we'd put into the FP- machine. ...and we are still excited to use the MagicBand for other things (room, dining plan, etc.). Excited to go back and be a Guest again!

I was thinking if you used the MagicBand, it would know you were in the park, more so than GPS...but it appears we've got the current answer :)

Ahhh, gotcha. Good point! But, yes, we did. Since we have bands, it would almost be easier (if the system actually worked this way) for the CM to use their pass and, then, instead of us using the "guest pass", tap our bands to the entry post to associate them with the Maingate. I'm wondering if the new Maingate/Silver passes are even going to work smoothly in general since they are a new "system" of entry as well. We'll see!

One thing I'd like to know is if they are going to eventually incorporate Maingate guests with MagicBands since they say that supposedly everyone will get the bands once it's rolled out (off-site guests, day guests, etc.).

We are only staying at AKL for two nights and then the rest of the time with our friend. It would be cool if we could still keep our credit card associated with our bands and use that to charge with or use the bands for PhotoPass+ and such, even when we aren't still staying in the resort. Maybe they will have those types of services down the road...

This may have been asked, but, are y'all calling the IT line or just the regular Disney line?

When CMs are able to link their main gates the guest cards will work kind of like a magic band. They will be used for park entry and fastpass+. However they don't want to link guest cards to resort reservations etc because they are the CMs property not the guests. If they were linked to magic bands CMs would have to collect the magic bands at the end of the day this making it where the guest wouldn't be able to get into their room etc. by keeping them separate the CM only has to worry about getting the cards back since most CMs don't stay in property.

Anyone have information on how to make FP+ selections for multiple parties? When I log onto my account my BIL is missing, when I log onto my sister's account my DH is missing. I can't figure out how to get us all listed so that I can book everything together.

Disney tech support appears to be closed for the night and I have already wasted SOOOOO much time trying to figure out all this FP+ stuff :sad2:

Apologies of this has been asked before but although I've tried to search through the thread, there's so much info, I can't see the wood for the trees.

Anyway, I'm staying at BLT with my parents 11/6-11/16. The ressie is linked to MDE. I have a AP voucher purchased using the DVC promo last year which is not yet linked. As my parents hadn't planned to come on this trip, they didn't purchase APs when I did and now plan to buy them once we're there. I presume this means that we'll be unable to use FP+?? Or if I link my AP, as they're listed on the ressie, will I be able to make FP+ ressies for all 3 of us?

Thanks :)

Currently the November Fastpass+ have not actually been loaded fully so there aren't many choices (4 in Hollywood Studios, 6 in EPCOT 5 in Animal Kingdom approx) so once they are fully loaded this will hopefully change. Assuming that BLT is included in November as so far only up to the 31st October has been announced then if you linked your pass would would be able to make Fastpass + for yourself only in advance. You can still do Magic Bands and then once you have the passes can look to book Fastpass+ for the entire trip as you can book them on the day. As said though, currently there has been no announcement about what is happening in November

If FP+ is live in November for your trip, you will need to have added the tickets prior to making FP+ reservations.
