My YC review

Wow, sounds like something you'd read on TripAdvisor.com. I wonder if the OP was confused about which web site he was posting to.

I'm with the others -- if YC is the equivalent of a Motel 6, then Accor has done an amazing job of not just rennovating, but also upgrading their chain. I wonder if this means I could get concierge level at Motel 6?

We were there the same time as the OP and I'd love to know which rides at WDW had 90 minute waits!?! We walked on most rides in the standby line and I think the longest wait we saw was 45 mins for Soarin. Soarin was the only time there was a need for fastpass.

One day we went to Universal and did the rides at both parks several times by 6pm (the parks closed at 7). Having FOTL at Universal in the beginning of May is not needed at all b/c there were NO lines. People were showing there onsite room keys at the Hulk and the worker said to just go in the regular line b/c it was a walk-on anyways.

Honestly, I couldn't wait to get back to WDW after the day at Universal. Don't get me wrong, I like Universal and I've been there 3 times in the last 2 years. Universal has some fun rides but I find more roudy teens and school groups there and we saw lots of garbage in the queues. When we want a pic w/a character theres no organization or lines, kids just push their way up to the character.

IOA is a pretty new park, but its starting to look worn out- it really needs to be repainted. My bf and I commented at the MK is in better repair than IOA and its like 20 some years older.

I've stayed at HRH- both concierge and regular room and it is on the same level as the Disney deluxes. Rooms at HRH are the same size as the ones at YC.

Wow, we're heading for the Yacht Club at the end of the week and after reading this review maybe we should reconsider where we're staying - Not!

Obviously Virgin Flyer was trying to get a rise out of someone here. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and I'm sorry if the YC and Disney didn't live up to your expectations, but comparing YC to Motel 6 and the Yachtsman to Sizzler? You can't be serious!

"REMEMBER: Don't Feed the trolls"

I was beginning to think the same thing! Stay at Universal and enjoy it,but stopp bashing WDW!

It is obvious from their other posts on these boards, that they are huge fans of another place. One man's heaven is another man's hell, apparently.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However Virginflyers melodramatic review is not a helpful opinion. People with such elevated tastes in vacations rarely spend a lot of time on vacation message boards either.

Don't waste our time with your negativity and drama.

Bye Bye Virginflyer, another to add to my "ignore" feature!!

I've stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel. It's a Days Inn with guitars on the wall.

ROTFL :rotfl2:
Brian - I've never counted all the signs but I'm guessing you must live north of Gainesville?

I assume the OP was joking or purposely trying to stir up trouble. The description of the YC bears no resemblance to what I have experienced on 10 previous trips there.

As soon as I read "Motel 6" I knew something wasn't right. Just a troll, move along, nothing to see here...

:rotfl:

Sounds like just a trouble maker to me, too. We were there a couple of weeks ago May 5-10, and the pool was virtually empty - beautiful weather, too!!

Yachtsman Steakhouse was FABULOUS! That was our best dinner - and we ate at some great places while we were there. I have to stick up for that restaurant!!! Loved that dinner!!!! (and the bananas foster martini - YUM!)

Motel 6 with steering wheels over the bed? Is this is a joke?
:rotfl: :rotfl2:

Sorry... I had to laugh. I can't imagine staying at Motel 6 with steering wheels over the bed. It is so unheard of or seen of!

I agree, HRH is a deluxe hotel, but I still think Disney deluxes are nicer...HRH do not even have windows that open up nor balcony's to sit on! What's up with that? :confused3

When I first read this post last night, I thought the same....troll!
The OP must be a Universal Troll!! :rotfl:

I agree, what a yummy & different kind of drink! And, of course, the food was incredible.

If Universal is full, perhaps there's a Motel 6 on the Main Gate strip that would be a better choice for you then. I can't believe this post is real, or else the poster is used to MUCH more than a Motel 6 to be so dis-satisfied with YC and WDW.

Hi, just back from the Yacht club. Stayed in a lagoon view, concierge room. Room. It was about average. Just like a Motel 6 room, with an extra sink and boat steering wheels above the beds. Only saving grace was the view of some water and tops of roofs. If you want to see the fireworks, get a telescope.

Before we went, we had heard so much about the hotel pool and how good it was. IMHO the pool was nothing special. It felt a bit grubby and boy do they pack you in and only one towel?

The other thing was the fact that everyone staying in the hotel seemed to be there on business. That to me isn't a vacation hotel. I would have stayed at the Peabody opposite the convention center for that.

The concierge service were completely uninterested in anything you had to say. Food was awful.

We ate at the Yachtmans steakhouse (2 hour wait). Food here was was akin to a Sizzler restaurant with very high prices.

Plus points : Nice Ice cream.

It really amazes me just how much Disney's standards have slipped. My money will be going straight over to Universal next time, where I can rest safe in the knowledge that I am getting value for money, new resorts, state of the art theme parks and dont have to wait in line for 90 minutes. Give me my Front of the Line card anytime!

Wow. While I appreciate your report, I have to say that I disagree on every point (the exception being the ice cream... it's fabulous). Good thing Disney has so many hotels.. everyone is sure to find one they like :goodvibes :flower:
