I ordered my Ikea cabinets & desk today. Getting it delivered. Might be here sometime next week.

As DH is gone for work this year, I don't know how long its going to take me while relying on friends here and there to help me put them together.

Also need to get rid of more stuff and old furniture. And my room is on the 3rd floor. Lots of stairs. Ugh.

Stay tuned over the next months for the progress of my WOMAN CAVE.

Guest room / office / craft room.

I've never had brand new furniture for this room. Its always been a mishmash of handme downs or stuff left here by previous owners.

My inspiration fabrics.

I'm using Ikea's Effektiv cabinets in beech color.

I have blue carpet & white walls that are staying as is.

I already got a large black faux leather ottoman to store my paper in. Have to hide things as its a guest room too. :D

Already cleaned out my closet and fixed the majorly sagging shelves. :D

And already built a 24x24 wire storage shelving unit to store computer, 2 printers & scanner. All off my desk now!!! Mom is going to sew something to hide the shelving unit & computer stuff on it. :D

"Woman Cave" - I love it!

Keep posting - can't wait to see the finished room!

Good luck with the creation of your Woman Cave! I bet it will be fabulous when it's all done. I am looking forward to seeing the progress pictures.

Love that idea! My scrap area is the dining room so it is all about having containers that are easy to move from the basement to upstairs. So something that would hold my paper in the room I work? Priceless :cloud9:

Cleaning out more today.

87 scrapbooking magazines (circa 2001-2007) going!!!
OMG, I had NO idea. That's embarrassing.

This was the one I bought. I orginally planned on dragging it in front of the couch/bed at times, but now that its full, I can see that's not going to happen. LOL Its staying where I put it under some hanging wall shelves.

Paper fits wonderfully with room to spare. I used a Cropper Hopper Easy Access Paper Holder in it for my 12x12 and magazine holders I had already for my 8.5x11 paper.

Your room is going to look great. I always say my girl cave is a work in progress. :)

My IKEA delivery is coming on Friday. :yay:

Now to find some people to help me put it together. :rolleyes1

LOL if I were close I'd be over in a heart beat!

Seems you live closer to me than you realize. Just hope on the hwy & head north. :D

Seriously though people, I'm alone this year as DH is gone for work, so its just me trying to do this by myself. My parents might head up next week for a couple days to give me a hand with some things.

So don't be holding your breath waiting. LOL

I keep Googling-image-scrapbooking rooms, and going on Youtube, trying to get ideas about storage and organizing. I told my husband that I don't have enough stuff after seeing everyone elses.:rotfl:

I don't have a lot of scrapping stuff either compared to most of those rooms. LOL But this room serves many uses os I have to keep it down.

Office, craft room, guest room & DH's clothes are in the closet in here.

OK, if you are heading north from Bamb - are you south or north of me? I want to see this room - sounds like it will be awesome -maybe we could go on a field trip - seriously! I love watching the creativity of others.

I guess I would be east of you. LOL

I don't want everyone getting their hopes up higher than its going to be. This started as a major need for function because I was feeling cramped in one small corner of the room surround & being buried by stuff. I'll be using my favorite colors but again not painting & not touching the floor. Function over decor. More office function than craft function probably too.

And 27 IKEA boxes basically gets you one VERY tall Effectiv cabinet with various drawers & doors. 3 sets of Effectiv wall cabinets for over the desk. The desk top. Some legs. And misc hardware stuff. Not alot of furniture.

Which highway? I have 2 that run north to south and 2 that run west to east.

If you really need help you let me know. If I'm close enough I'm sure I can help.

And I know how to decipher Swedish hieroglyphics!!
