We all are warriors, we don't have dragons and invading armies to battle against anymore but the men and the princesses, of WISH, are warriors none the less. We have our battles, we go toe to toe with some of the most horrible demons.

We take on our personal demons and we take on the baddest distances. We gather, we cheer and we encourage each other. But when we fight our battles we must find the strength within our selves. Sometimes we win and sometimes we fall but our strength is in not giving in.

I have heroes among my team mates, heroes that I think about when my training gets hard, heroes to remember when the race has become a contest of who can keep going full throttle when the energy is long since used up.

I think of the determination of Wendy, she is such a force such an inspiration. I remember the look in Judy"s eyes, she has the eye of the tiger. I remember Robert going on the pure power of love for his sport when his knees and shins were so damaged. I think of the love that Cecelia has for her dad and her determination to finish the last race for him. I remember the courage of Cam in her battle to live. I respect the WISH warriors who give till they have no more to give, but their spirit is strong and they ready themselves for the next round.

The stories are so many and each is a triumpth of spirit over coming the odds. We have members who have battled their way back to health. We have team mates who have fought their way back to a strong healthy body.

Would anyone else like to take this opportunity to thank one of their personal heroes. Whether it be a fellow WISHer or a supporting spouse or anyone who inspired you.

Warriors of the WISH you guys are awesome.

Don't forget Erica during the full as part of the Goofy this year:)

Yes, I get to be a poster child while I recover again. Can someone take over my job? I just want to train and hide in obscurity;)

Everyone keep up the battle:thumbsup2

Robert I know your tired of the pain and the rehab and just want this to be over. But unfortunately when we do an endurance sport we sometimes have to take our lumps. Your example that a tough injury doesn't mean that you have to give up is a valuable lesson to all of us.

As for Erica, she inspires me dailey. She also is tired of being a poster child for having to dig deep to find the strength to go on. We are hoping for a marathon this January without the hot flashes and the sore bunions.

I should have mentioned Space Ranger in that group. He also is not a man to stop untill there is nothing left to give. I hope his knees forgive him also.

I use my DH for the battles he's always waging. If he can overcome what he has faced, I know I can do anything.

I use the newbies to inspire me to continue. I know I looked upon others who went before me when I first took my steps.

I use ALL of WISH for inspiration actually. Both the main side as well as our events side. Everyone who posts has something that I read and am greatful for the desire to move forward. It is difficult to single out one without feeling bad that I've missed so many.

As I read the stories, struggles, encouragements and accomplishments I feel so inspired in so many ways. I just cannot thank all of those who post here enough for getting me on track and accountable.

As naive or incorrect as this may be, one of my biggest motivators or heroes is Twotoohappy (aka Liz). Being a school teacher, a single mom and a person who has went throught the issues of being overweight and battling back to a healthier happier place is an incredible statement of what kind of person she really is. Not only has she lost 100 pounds but she has done her first Disney race and continues to train for even better health and next year's races. I am not only proud of her accomplishments but overwhemingly happy that I can call her a true friend!!

Another one of my heroes would be everyone on the "Dieting for Disney" thread. Being able to talk to all of them on a regular basis has been a motivation and encouragement for me for the last couple of years to help me reach some levels of fitness that I previously had never thought possible.

I have many heros in my real life and my cyber life.

My little now 6 year old neighbour who has been battling neo-blastoma for the last few years. 3 years ago I lost 4 friends within 4 months, 3 cancer and 1 complications of diabetise all within the ages of 37 - 48. I also lost my parents at a young age, they where both 67 due to heart disease....I was in my early 20's. Mainly my DH who is with me every step of the way and loves me unconditionally, we have been together since I was 14 and he has never waivered in his love and support for me. They all inspire me every daye to live every day to the fullest and never have any regrets. I want to get healthy so I can be with my great kids as they continue to grow into adults and start families of there own

My cyber friends, first I think of Cam. I agree with Dave, her fight to live and lead a happy and healthy life is undeniable, what she gives to those around her is inspiration and support!!!

Robert, battling back after some major surgeries, to continue on the healthy lifestyle he has always lead.

PatsBill, working through some major back pain to get his body healthy so he can play with this kids

actually I could really go on and on as everyone who posts on these boards is a inspiration to lead a healthier lifestyle regardless of if they are world class athletes or this is there first 1K walk.....the love and support on these threads are a inspiration you are all heros.!!!!

Wow did I ramble....sorry:grouphug:

Thank you for sharing. Telling someone they have been an inspiration to you is never naive or incorrect. We should all do it more.

Lately, I have been getting alot of my inspiration from our new runners and walkers. Their excitement and enthusiasm has reminded me over and over to find the joy in running and not just in going faster or better than before.
