my windows are starting to look pretty

A couple weeks ago I bought some primroses at Walmart. Slowly I've been adding plants in the kitchen. Today I bought a pretty pink African Violet. Will have to go back for purple (they didn't look too hot). Pretty pretty.

My mom used to raise African Violets and I would love to get her one for Valentines Day, but the ones that I have seen at the stores don't look as healthy so I might have to get a different flower.

I bought a new purple AV the other day, and 2 pots of blue Hyacinths.

I'm feeling the urge to plant. It is so mild here my neighbor was mowing his grass yesterday!

I have always grown African violets. My motto is Grow what grows and that is the one flower I seem to have the best luck with. I have an ever blooming begonia. It has beautiful large very full red flowers when it is blooming. The problem I have with it is the it seems to be growing quite well and is happy, then all of a sudden, nearly the entire plant dies. I cut it way back to where there is some life and slowly it comes back. That one plant has caused me more aggravation then the entire lot of them. I sometimes feel like pitching it but as long as there is some sort of life I just can't give up.

Oh my gosh, Mary, I can hardly imagine that! Although it's fairly mild here today (40F), I've still got a foot of snow in the backyard! I'm sure there'll be more to come too....

Chessie, I admire your stick-with-it-ness....lol. I think you're very attacked to your begonia.
