i was at work and she took our little guy (the furry white one in my sig) out to go potty, always on a leash, and our neighbors two goldens came over into our yard and beat hell out of him. they mangled one of his ears pretty good. now............he's gonna live...........but it scared everybody pretty good. i cant blame the dogs for being dogs but i suggested to our neighbor that she might want to get better control of them. she has one of those underground fences and special collars on the dogs but they run right through the shock. i told her that a fence should be made of metal or wood and be about four feet high. she was crying about the whole thing. Jasper is of course milking it for all its worth so.................extra treats tonite........that is, after the pain shot the vet gave him wears off.

First I'm so sorry your wife and furbaby had to go through this. :grouphug:
Your neighbor should take this very serious. That could have been a child. If she doesn't learn how to take control of these dogs this can get worse and most likely will.

I totally understand you, my dog who's about the size of your dog just black got attacked by another dog who was three sizes mine this saturday. The dogs didn't like each other and so they began to be nervous. This dog wasn't a bad dog, he was just nervous because he didn't like mine..I never thought that I could grab him without being afraid of him bitting me... Fortunately none of us got hurt. The woman who had the dog was standing there just screaming...:confused3
I hope your wife and furbaby are doing better..it's a bit of a shock when these things happens, you can really get scared for your furbaby. I would really talk to you neighbour: if her dogs doesn't behave well... she'll have to find another way to keep them away from other dogs if they are going to attacked them. Let us know how your doggie is doing!

if you don't like your neighbor, and they don't like you, you might consider mentioning your new 12g shotgun you will be keeping loaded and ready next to your door incase your family ever feels threatened. by man or beast. Or at least a bat. If any dog came in my yard and attacked my dog or kids it would be carried away. Especially the second time after the owner KNEW they did not have the animal contained. I would file a complaint also.

I have an aluminum baseball bat right by my back door because the neighbor has 2 pitbulls her daughter left behind. They aren't tied up late at night so they can run around the yard, and a few times they have come here, 3 houses away. I have no problems defending my dog if needed, and they know it.

I would take pictures, save the vet bills for them to pay, and report it to the police or animal control where you live.

Your poor doggie. I hope his ear will heal quickly. I'm sure your wife was terrified.

I'd report it to the police and have the other dogs owner pay the vet bills.

I had to quit walking my dog at the dog park near my house because I had one too many issues with other people not knowing how to control their dogs.

The last one, the woman just stood screaming for help while her dog went after mine, growling and barking. I grabbed that dogs leash, yanked it to get it's attention and told the dog to sit right now. And it did so it had some training but the woman just didn't know what to do.

Luckily it didn't get to my Sophie but I am now officially done with the dog park.

OMGosh poor pup. I hope he is doing better and I hope that neighbor paid your vet bill. How sad. Pixie dust from us.

jasper wishes to thank everyone personally.............his exact words were..............bark, bark, yelp, bark, yelp, bark, bark, whine.............................the same goes for me.

:sad2: while i completely understand how terrifying and paralyzing that situation can be, this just makes me so...UGH. i KNOW my dog can be prone to violence, and i KNOW when it's coming and how to stop it. i have to - it's my responsibility.

i'm so glad your wife & furbaby are ok, dalt01!!
