Day 7: August 27
We woke up at our All Star Sports resort & we took our luggage to the luggage area. We had them deliver our luggage to our new hotel stay for one night. Animal Kingdom Lodge. After we dropped off our luggage we had our last Breakfast at All Star Sports. I will be at the Pop Century Resort at the end of November.
After Breakfast we took the Magic Kingdom bus to catch the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus. We wanted to go to the Lodge so they know we are there.
After we checked in, we walked around looking at the wildlife. Most of them were being lazy because of the heat. I really didn't blame them. We also walked over to Boma, Jiko & The Mara to check them out. Those restaurants happened to be by the pool so we went to look at that. They have a pretty neat pool. Its open on one end and you just walk right into it.
Louis called the front desk to ask them if our room was ready yet. They told him it was. We went to our room. The first thing I did was go on to our balcony. At this moment from our balcony, I saw Cranes & Ankole Cows. I took pictures of the animals & the hotel room itself.
Louis cancelled our reservations for Biergarten because we weren't too hungry. Instead we had reservations for Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom. It didn't take long for the bus to get to Animal Kingdom either.
After eating, we went back to Animal Kingdom Lodge & I got a sweatshirt since I don't have any kind of Disney sweatshirt. We also got a bottle with a fan on it to keep us cool.
We went up to our room & we called to see if our luggage had arrived yet. It did so we went to the lobby to pick up our luggage. We took our luggage back to our room since it had my bathing suit in it.
I took a shower & then put my Disney bathing suit on to get ready to go to the pool but as soon as I saw myself in the suit, I was disappointed. I even told Louis I couldn't go out looking like I did. He didn't see anything wrong but I saw myself as a huge Marshmallow. I also didn't want to go to the pool without anyone I know.
We sat outside on the balcony for awhile to watch the animals. We watched them until it got dark & couldn't take anymore pictures. The animals came pretty close too & I was in heaven. I even told Louis that watching the animals is more fun than swimming.
After watching the animals for awhile, I changed into regular clothes & we decided to take a walk. We went to the Night Vision thing & I got to see a Giraffe through Night Vision Goggles. It was really neat. We didn't stay long because I was getting eaten by mosquitos.
We walked to The Mara & I got some Zebra Domes which are my favorite things to eat. They are a cake type thing and the outside is decorated in stripes just like a Zebra. Louis had a Mickey Ice Cream. We also filled our mugs up with soda. The straws at this resort are made of paper for the animals sake.
After eating my favorite dessert, we went back up to the room & placed an order for room service for breakfast in the morning. Then we must check out and then check into Port Orleans until Sept. 3rd.
Day 8: August 28
We woke up with a knock on our door. Our breakfast had arrived. We had room service & it was great. It was my first time doing room service & I felt special. We each had a ham & cheese omelette with potatoes & a biscuit. I got chocolate milk & Louis got tomato juice. After breakfast we got ready to go and we packed up our bags to get ready to check in at Port Orleans: French Quarter. I looked outside one last time & I was disapointed that none of the animals were out there for our goodbyes. Only pelicans were out.
After getting ready, we took our luggage to bell services. They put the transfer tickets on & told us they wouldn't be at the other place until after 3:00 p.m. We said OK and then waited for the bus to take us to Animal Kingdom for us to catch a bus to Port Orleans.
We caught the bus to Port Orleans: French Quarter. They checked us in right away. We went to check out our room & fell in love with it automatically. Our room faces the Sachagoula River which you can see boats going by. Our room was bigger than the one at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
After checking out our room, we went over to the Sassagoula Float Works boat dock to take the boat over to Downtown Disney: West Side. We had to transfer at the Marketplace because the captain told us he didn't go to the West Side. We got off the boat & waited for another boat. He took us to the West Side.
We got off at the West Side and walked over to the AMC 24. We only saw one movie. It was called Mirrors & I thought it had an interesting ending. I like movies that make you think. After the movie we walked around Downtown Disney. We talked & watched some ducks and an egret eat someones French Fries & then eat grass. I took pictures of them since they were posing. We kept walking. Louis bought a wallet for himself. We walked to Capt. Jacks to cancel our dinner reservation since we were still full from breakfast. Instead we ate at Earl Of Sandwich.
We decided to head back to our resort & it was starting to get really cloudy out and started to pour. Since the boats don't run when its lightning, we had to take a bus to Port Orleans. After we got off the bus, the rain stopped.
We went to the luggage area to see if our luggage had arrived. It did not arrive & they called Animal Kingdom Lodge to see if they delivered them & they had not. We went back to our room to wait for the guy to call us to let us know they got the luggage.
After we got our luggage in one piece, we decided to walk around the resort for a bit. I took some pictures. They have a horse & carriage ride but I don't know how much it is. I also walked around the pool area to take a look at it. The spa too. We went into the food court to get some drinks. After our drinks, we went back to our room.
Day 9: August 29
We woke up in our new Port Orleans: French Quarter bed. For breakfast I had a cinnamon roll & Louis had a cheese danish. This hotel doesn't have chocolate croissants or crumb cake. They also don't have Strawberry milk. After breakfast we took the bus to EPCOT.
When we got to EPCOT we rented an ECV for me. We went over to Leave A Legacy to find Jim & Landon's legacy. I wish they still had these because it makes me feel depressed because I can't leave a legacy of my own. To me, it's like leaving your mark on something you love. It took us awhile to find it but we did.
After finding that we went into Innoventions West. I tried playing a Wall-E video game but it wasn't working. We also went into a game show called What's Your Problem. This Innoventions is mainly for kids to play around on.
After that, we went to Soarin. I have now marked this an absolute favorite of mine. This time we didn't have to stand in the 50 minute standby line. We used our Guest Access Card to get us in. It worked & I love it. This time we sat in the 2nd row. I have tried all three rows now. My favorite is the 2nd row because you can feel more wind & smell better.
This time we remembered to go on Living The Land ride. I thought this was an interesting ride because you got to see where they grow the vegetables that they serve in the restaurants in EPCOT. We even saw some huge fish & allegators. I still haven't spotted them outside the parks though.
After we left The Land we went over to Club Cool. I was thirsty so I had a few samples of my favorite soda from China. It's the watermelon flavored soda. I even drank some of the Yucky Beverly from Italy for Jim. We went out the back to try to find the talking water fountain but we still couldn't find it. Maybe they took it away?
Now that I quenched my thirst we went over to the American Pavilion to have some Funnel Cake. After eating that we got to see the Fife & Drum Corp do their thing. I took pictures.
After visiting America we went to Canada to see Off-Kilter. This set they did wasn't very good but we didn't get to watch all of it because in United Kingdom, the British Invasion started playing. They were good as always. After British Invasion, we went over to Off-Kilter again. This time they were awesome. I took a few pictures of them. I would love to meet them at some point.
After this set of Off-Kilter we went to the Friendship Boats but before that, we returned my ECV. We got on the Friendship Boat going to Hollywood Studios.
We got to Hollywood Studios, the place I still want to call MGM Studios we had dinner reservations at 50's Prime Time Cafe. It was really good but our waiter didn't interact enough. After leaving the restaurant we took the bus back to our resort.
We got to our resort & relaxed a little since we were really full from dinner. I put my sandals on and went to the wading pool. I only put my feet & part of my legs in. Children liked having me there for some strange reason. I liked being in the pool because the water was warm. After wading we went to the food court to fill up our mugs.
