Welcome! We just returned from a great week in the World (June 11-18). The trip was a bit last minute and we were on a budget so we chose to stick to primarily counter service meals (with a few exceptions). With two smalls kids, I really felt a lot more relaxed not having to worry about making it to an ADR all the time. I liked how we were able to go with the flow and just eat when we felt like.

Here's the family:

And here's where we ate:

Epcot
Lotus Blossum Cafe Review
Liberty Inn Review

Magic Kingdom
Columbia Harbor House Review
Pecos Bill Review
Tortuga Tavern Review
Cosmic Ray's Review

Hollywood Studios
Pizza Planet Review
Sci Fi Dine In Review
Studio Catering Company Review

'Ohana

Animal Kingdom
Tusker House

Please be warned, I tried my best to get food pictures, but when you are trying to manage two small kids that sometimes gets forgotten. Plus DH started getting annoyed with me always saying "Wait, I have to take a picture!" so I don't have pictures of everything.

Here we go!

One word about my grading system... I am grading the meals on an A, B, C, F scale (I'm a schoolteacher and we don't do D's in my school ;)). An A doesn't mean it's the best meal I've ever had in my life. I'm grading these based on what they are and their relative costs compared to other meals at WDW.

A= Very good, definitely will do again
B= Good, I would recommend it and possibly do it again
C= Edible but I won't be back
F= Barely made it through the meal

This was our first CS of the week. My kids LOVE "Chinese noodles" as they call them. The seating is covered, but open air and not air conditioned. It was still a nice break from the heat. We went at about 11:30 on a Sunday in June and there was no line and plenty of seating.

I ordered the orange chicken for DH and myself and the sweet and sour chicken for both the kids. I subbed noodles for the rice just because that's what we prefer. The noddles were VERY bland by themselves, I was sort of surpised by that. But when you added the sauce and mixed them with the chicken it was pretty good. It wasn't very hot though, kind of lukewarm like it had been sitting out (and I saw them assemble the food so I know it wasn't). I give the meal a C+. Edible but nothing to write home about.

DD's kids sweet and sour chicken. The noodles were just as tasteless as they look.

Hi. We always eat the CS when we go or do lunch ADR's. Lotus is one of the CS that I want to try when we are there in September. Can't wait to read more.

My son calls Lo Mein "Chinese noodles" too. I have to say those Disney ones look disappointing though.

Thanks for the reviews!

Boy, do you have your priorities messed up! Pictures first!! :rotfl2:
Can't wait to read more reviews!!

This was our dinner on the evening of our Epcot day. Now, I wanted to go a little more exotic having all those choices in WS, but I also wanted a funnel cake! Plus we were hot and tired and Liberty Inn has indoor, air conditioned seating. So comfort won out.

First we stopped at the little stand outside for funnel cakes. We took them inside and had dessert before dinner while DH rode Mission Space.

We went in at about 7:30 and there were plenty of seats and no line for food. We got a nice table near the windows.

The kids had never had funnel cakes before. That definitely gets an A+!

DH showed up and we had dinner. Sorry to say that I didn't get any pictures of it. He ordered the Bacon double cheeseburger meal (no bacon) with fries. I had the chili dog with fries. The kids each had a plain hot dog (it's not on the menu, but I asked at the counter and they gave it to me.) There is a nice little toppings bar in here, not as extensive as Pecos Bill's but it was good. Overall Liberty Inn gets a B from us. Next time I'd prefer something a little more adventurous in WS, but for picky eaters (or if you just want to stay indoors) this is a decent choice.

I'm in...that is something we would like to try next, a trip with nothing but CS

Joining in! I enjoyed the CS meals we had, and can't wait to see your reviews.

Your kids look pretty close to mine in age, so I am paying extra attention to your "kid perspective":goodvibes

thanks!!

I have eaten better meals at the local mall food court, sorry but this just doesn't look good, and I would have been disappointed especially at the prices they charge:(
