Hello Ladies:
This email was sent to my coordinator. Future Brides read this so problems like this won't happen to you too.

Hi Maxine:

I am writing to say thank you for helping us plan all the details of our
beautiful wedding on December 16th, 2005.

I am also writing to inform you of a few upsetting problems we encountered.

First of all, let me thank you again as everything turned out beautiful for the
ceremony as well as the cake and champagne reception. All details were perfect with music, transportation, floral and all other selections. Your assistant coordinators were very friendly and pleasant.

I think it would have helped to have a little more direction as far as the maid
of honor and father of the bride during the ceremony. They said they were told one thing by one person and then something else by another.
Other than that..........everything was beautiful. Thank you so much.

AFTER the ceremony & reception is where we had the problems. I know this is not the responsibility of Disney Weddings but it was a major let down as far as quality service from DISNEY WORLD in general.

PROBLEM #1:
Upon arriving at Ohana's, we were asked to sit and wait to be seated. They then said the Manager is the only one who can accept a cake from us and they will find him for us.

Well, we sat and waited. We assumed they needed to arrange tables for us.
Twenty minutes later... after seeing several people seated in the restaurant
that did not appear to have reservations, we were told they were still looking
for the manager.

At 5:30 pm my mother was clearly upset. She adores Disney and is used to top notch service from Disney. We asked why we were not being seated yet, and the hostess said they were waiting for someone to come in. We then asked why we were having to wait so long when be booked the reservation 2 months in advance.
Finally after my mother asked for a manager a third time.......they decided to
seat us.

The young man who was seating us......said they cannot accept any cakes from outside the restaurant.
We were very upset and hadn't even sat down yet.....when my mother and the other 15 people in my wedding party demanded to see the manager.
FINALLY, after 3 or 4 times of asking for a manager................the young
man appeared.
He had nothing to say and seated us.

The food was wonderful and everyone enjoyed it. I just don't understand why we had to go thru that. I have never seen a restaurant seat their largest party so late.

PROBLEM #2:
On the morning of our checkout at around 10:00 am we decided to go get a bite to eat.......when we returned to our hotel room at Coronado Springs,
we found that the door was open and our bottles of champage from the reception, our wedding cake as well as other important wedding items, WERE GONE!
I immediately phoned security to inform them someone had broken into the room and stolen our wedding items. I was so upset as my wedding keepsakes were GONE.
My husband went searching for a maid or anyone that worked for the hotel. After searching for 15 minutes, we were informed that another maid had our items and was about to throw them away.

I don't understand why a maid would enter a room and clean out items when we hadn't checkout yet.

The maid told us we should have put the "privacy please" card in the door so
that wouldn't happen.
So I guess that was just our stupid mistake???
I did receive all of my items back and security did apologize for what had
happened.
It is just upsetting......that she had them thrown on the bottom of her
cleaning cart with the intention of throwing them away. Then had the nerve to tell us it was our mistake. My cake was not returned to me in the same
condition it was taken.

Thanks for reading this. :wave2:

Since your issues were not with DFTW specifically, I think you should send this letter to Disney World in general. I’ll have to hunt down the contact info, or perhaps someone else can post it here. Also, try to really stick to the facts in the letter, as that tends to get more response than more emotionally written letters. I’m sorry you encountered problems, but I’m glad your wedding was beautiful!

So sorry to hear about your problems. We had a problem similar to your second problem with regards to the morning after our wedding and our wedding night suite. Housekeeping woke us up super early as they were under the impression that we were checking out, and the privacy signb was up! We then left to take things to our next hotel (it was no where near check out time) and when we returned we had been checked out and everything that we had left in the room was gone! We never got our keepsakes back but the hotel manager did comp us a 2 night stay in a simailr suite. Disney did come through for us, but I think that the crying helped as we were both in tears and quite upset. We even contacted our EM to see if they had noted an early check out for us, nope.

It is upsetting in the sense they checked you out, but at least you were able to get your keepsakes back. I would contact the manager for the resort that you stayed at and express your concern with them. I would also contact the manager of Ohana's for the same reason. Just remain clam when exlaining what has happened and that you wish that doesn't happen to anyone else. Hopefully this will help with closure or any reimbursement if needed.

First off, congratulations on your marriage! I'm sorry that you had some problems with Disney after your wedding ceremony, but I am glad to hear that your ceremony and cake cutting went well.

I agree with the previous posters - the problems you encountered were not the fault of DFTW, so I'm not sure what your coordinator will beable to do for you, other than offer their sympathies. I would write a very calm factual letter to the manager of O'hana's and the manager of Coronado Springs. They will be able to better deal with your complaints, and to implement changes to help make sure other couples don't encounter the same problems.

I do find it very odd the maid entered your room before 11:00 AM on your check out day when it seems that it was pretty obvious you hadn't checked out yet - was your luggage etc still in the room?

So sorry you had problems, i thought that maids were only allowed to throw things away that were in the bin? unless you had already checked out, which would have been obvious that you were still there?

That is too bad - I also think you should probably contact Disney in general. 2 yrs ago we stayed at Port Orleans FQ and our bathroom had pubic hair from previous guests in the bathroom and was not cleaned properly until almost the last day. I wrote Disney and they refunded one night for me.....
