My WDW Trip Journal

I found the patterned paper at Archiver's.

I designed all of the journal pages - The Mickey head I found online somewhere, and I just used Photoshop Elements to add the days in them.

Your book is soooo darn cute!!! I know lots of people would love to make one of their own. I know you can't post the pages you made using scrapbook paper...but would you consider posting the pages you made using photoshop?

I am not the OP but felt completely inspired to go out and start a similar project. I don't think I am nearly as crafty but wanted to share my thoughts on how others in the same not so crafty boat my be able to replicate her book.

I went to ACMoore and found a spiral bound scrapbook to use as a starting point. The one I picked up is a Canson 6" x 6" in white, similar to this (although this one does have white pages inside). It was over in the scrapbook/photo album area.

Then I came home and deconstructed the book so I had pre punched pages to print on. I made up a "daily" insert similar to the op's, slightly more generic though so I didn't have to make a new one for each day. I also made a few extra pages for Epcot notes since I want my kids to think a little about each country as we explore. All of my pages are below.

I still need to track down the photo inserts, and will probably end up cutting some custom dividers (I LOVE the OP's), but worst case is I can buy stick on divider tabs at an office supply store and print out a DISign on the pages used as dividers. I also need way more pages than the 20 my book came with, so will either have to cut/punch those myself or head down to kinkos and have them cut some blank card stock for me to print on. Then some magic will need to be performed dressing up the front and back covers and inside cover, but I'm thinking some glitter and specialty stickers from the scrapbook aisle will get me close. :thumbsup2

Here are the pages I did for my insert, scaled to print at 6.5" x 6" which is what the inside pages for the Canson book are. It also allows space on the left to accommodate for the spiral binding. FYI I printed on a laser printer so it was pulled through by rollers vs an inkjet going side to side... I'm not sure that will make a difference in the printing on pre punched pages but it may.

Daily page - (the one I am using for my kids is the 2nd version)

I'm inspired to try this also. I keep looking at the OP design and there's a few things I can't seem to figure out. Like how did they make those dividers? :confused3 Your pages look great. Are you going to print directly on the pages you took out of the book you bought? If so, how do you do this to make them line up right?

The dividers I'm still trying to figure out. At Office Depot they have these self adhesive tabs, if I don't figure out how to design something I may turn the pages inside the journal into dividers using those.

Yes I printed directly onto the pages (figure I could do that too for fancy dividers if needed). Since I have a laser printer I just adjusted my settings to print on the right size paper. So for mine I had the image open in my photo editing software and then hit file > print. Then the print window pops up and I have an option to select the size and position of the item being printed. I set that to width 6.5", height 6.0" and I had a radio button for custom offset and set my left offset to 1" and my top offset to 0.05 (this centered the image for me with a teeny margin up at the top). I placed my pages in the MPF (manual paper feed) tray and selected that tray to print from and viola.

If you have another style printer or don't have those exact settings use some scrap paper to do some test printing with. You can trim them down to 6.5 x 6 so you don't ruin any pages from the book.

My dividers were cut out of a heavyweight metallic paper (about 90 or 100 weight) using my die cut machine (Silhouette).

Sumlthomp - would you consider posting the pages that you made using photoshop? I know you can't post the cover and back pages that you used scrapbook pages to make but I know there are a lot out there that would enjoy using the insert pages.

Also, where did you get the photo insert sheets?

bumping this ;)

Due to the fact that I have this item listed for sale on Etsy, I'd rather not post my journal pages.

Thanks so much for the compliments!!

I am so glad that I decided to make a journal for our trip. We went in November, and each night after the kids went to sleep, I made sure I wrote in my journal. Some nights I was so tired, but I knew I needed to write it all down while it is fresh in my mind. I sat down the other day to read the entire journal and it just made me so happy to relive some of our magical Disney memories!! I can't wait to plan another trip to do it all again!!

Love these ideas! You are all so creative! Could you send me the link to your listing on Etsy? I would love to take a look at it and possibly buy!

Thanks!

 I loooooooove that!!!!! Do you sell the journals? I would love one, but I know I could bever make one so gorgeous!!!

I did through the posts and see that but I thought maybe she would change her mind. I've been searching on Etsy for her as well as private message her about purchasing this and I haven't gotten a reply. Thought I would give it a shot... sorry

I looked on etsy today and I could not find the journal for sale. As anyone else had any luck recently?
