My Very Sad Trip Report

bedogged - You will get a LOT of sympathy from me. I hope you're feeling better now. POFQ is awesome. Don't let one bad trip ruin your love for the resort!

Feel better! :goodvibes

Ah, what a shame! I hope you get to go back soon! Sometimes it seems like a bog part of every Disney trip is making up for the things that went wrong on the last one!

Celebrations wasn't the best ER experience I've had in my life, either (although I've certainly had worse). I'm not sure I ever actually DID see a doctor, and I also had to wait a long time for pain relief after it was ordered! I put it down to a busy day, but I'm sure they have a lot of those. It all worked out OK in the end though, so it sounds like I had a better time of it than you did.

I hope they figure out the cause of your abdominal pain soon and get you sorted out.

Thank you all so much for the sympathy! I am feeling better, but not 100%. They are still testing. I had a similar episode, except not so bad, about two weeks ago.

As for the Ebay remark, I do think that the CM was just making a joke, however, I did pick up on what I would call a tone from a lot of different CMs regarding the GAC and the new program. Nobody actually said anything, but I got the impression that it was thought that we (GAC card users) were getting what we deserved because we had abused the program. That was just what I picked up on and you can take it for what it is worth. They also seemed genuinely ignorant about what the new program would consist of, even those CMs you would expect to have some knowledge about it.

Oh my gosh, the Celebration ER was awful! The doctors seemed fine, but the nurses were terrible. What's with having to wait almost three hours for pain relief after it has already been prescribed? Makes me really appreciate my local hospital. At least my insurance should pay all with the exception of $100.00.

In regard to the POFQ downgrade, it was from river view to garden view. I had requested a room close to transportation and they gave us I room that I did not consider close although they assured me that was what I was getting.

What a huge bummer! Hospital trips are never fun :(

I'm curious about the close to transportation request at POFQ. I was told they don't do those at that resort because the property overall is so small. But if there's a way to request I'd love to know. FIL will not be able to do big walks & it would really make him happy. We're booked there at the end of the month

DD is a recent CM at WDW and the training that she was given regarding guests w/disabilities....well this would not fly. She actually met & spoke with George K!! He approached her while she was working at SSR. They had quite the conversation. I wonder what he would think of a CM speaking to a guest this way??

Well, he'd have to be present for the actual tone of the statement, which we don't get to hear here, but the OP stated that it was taken as a joke. Others are reading into it more than is reasonable, IMO.

Would it have been offensive if the statement was made about a park map? What if they were changing the design of the maps, and a guest was getting some help reading the map, and then the CM stated that the maps were going to change, keep this one to sell on ebay - would that be considered offensive? :confused3

First, I hope that you're feeling much better!!
{{{HUGS}}}. Gentle ones of course!

I'm so sorry that you got sick @ Disney!!
It just doesn't seem right!
I got kidney stones in WDW one trip & it started on Its a Small World!! It was the LONGEST & most PAINFUL ride, ever! I wanted to jump off the boat!

I was able to go to some Urgent Care place & they took my insurance & treated me.

Even though I'm an RN-There is absolutely no excuse to have anyone wait hours for pain meds!

Do the Dr.'s have any idea what caused the pain?
I hope it's better soon!

Let's please not get on this GAC/DAS subject.
It just causes so much tension, when we just need to give some lovin' to one of our Dis friends!

We were way out in building 3, which they informed me I had requested. They also said I requested a ground floor room. I didn't request either one. I told them I requested close to transportation and was told that building 3 was! I guess it is all in your perception of close. There is a building right behind the transportation area. I'm not sure which one that is. I would check on the Resort Board for that information and ask for that building. Also, I would suggest that you do online check in. They met us at the bus. It makes for a very VIP feeling check in.

Thank you for the kind words. We called the Urgent Care place and they were unable to treat me because I needed a CT scan and they don't have those.

Thanks for the ideas :) VIP sounds like a great treat for the in-law's anniversary :)

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that you got sick at WDW {{hugs}}.

Sorry, cannot agree. I think you are taking the CM's comment wrong and far too personally. A sense of humor makes everything easier!

I would guess the majority of Disney employees have no idea that there are people upset with GAC changes. Being friendly and joking with guests is hardly unprofessional.

This! :thumbsup2

Some people will complain about anything! :confused3
