Hi everyone! This is my very first trip report!
We booked our trip through Dreams Unlimited and my agent was Michelle H. (You guys she is just wonderful!)
Cast:
Me Kathy (31) Disney fanatic and obsessive planner
Husband Richard (35) Skeptic about trusting Dreams Unlimited with our travel plans. Loves Disney but hasn't been for 12 years. (Very hard to please by the way)
Daughter Shelley (10) This trip was totally for her birthday celebration (at least that's our grown up excuse when you get "that look" from co-workers) She is wearing an air cast on her leg so we have to rent a wheelchair everyday.
Dates: 10/27/01 through 11/101
Resort: Caribbean Beach, Room 3246, Trinidad North
Package: Discovery Magic
Day 3: EPCOT
After getting to bed at 1:00am due to the MNSSHP, we were glad that we didn't make a PS for breakfast. Michelle at DU made an 11:00 PS for lunch at the Garden Grille in EPCOT. Due to the season or recent events, EPCOT now opens at 10:00am. We arrived at 9:45 am for hte park opening and were the first people to ride Test Track! That was pretty awesome. After riding, we made our way to The Land for lunch at the Garden Grille. This was our 2nd favorite meal (again, we have simple tastes and don't really enjoy "gourmet"). The steak and catfish were delicious! While waiting to be seated, the CM that was checking everyone in struck up a conversation with my daughter. Shelley told her that we were at WDW to celebrate her 10th birthday which was tomorrow. Unknown to us, that CM had told the waitress to send out a birthday cake to Shelley for dessert! It was wonderful and Shelley (and we) were very surprised. The total was $62.89 (another Magical Wish used). We then went to Living Seas (hubby was bored there) and HISTA. We then went to World Showcase and let Shelley get her passport signed in each country. At 3pm hubby and I were literally dragging due to our feet killing us. We had a 5pm PS at LeCellier and wanted to leave to go soak in the hot tub at the CBR. We knew if we kept acting like commandos on a mission that we would be miserable. We stopped in Canada to try a beaver tail and the CM there asked me about our vacation and I mentioned that Shelley's 10th birthday was tomorrow. She made a maple & chocolate beaver tail (She wrote "Shelley" in chocolate on top) and gave it to me for FREE!!! How cool! The beaver tail was yummy but messy. After my wet ones in my fanny pack came to the rescue, it was about 3:45 and we decided to drag ourselves into LeCellier and beg for a 4pm seating. (By the way, we got to listen to Off Kilter while sitting there eating our Beaver Tail. They are awesome! Everyone really enjoyed their show) We arrived at LeCellier at 4pm and were seated immediately. I tried the cheese soup (it was OK but not spectacular) and had the NY strip steak (yummy). The funky mashed mixed veggie potatoes were...well...funky so I didn't eat them. (Just didn't seem right for squash and stuff to be in my mashed taters). We decided the restaurant was nice but way too gourmet. The desserts, however, were the best we had all trip long. Shelley had the chocolate "moose" and I had chocolate Canadian club cake, and Richard had Canadian berry cobbler. The total came to $106.37. Another Magical Wish used). We went back to the resort and Shelley swam in the pool and Richard and I soaked in the hot tub. We decided not to return to EPCOT for Illuminations because we were enjoying the pool and hot tub too much. We decided to take breaks more often. We refilled our mugs and went back to the room around 7:30pm. By the way, even though many things were not open due to recent events, the pool bar was open every night and there were CMs there wrapping hair. Tomorrow is Shelley's birthday and breakfast at Cinderella's Castle (again, thanks to Michelle at DU)
