My Very First October 2012 PTR!! **APOLOGY FOR BAILING ON THIS PTR...**

Okay, so I have to join along on this pre-trip report! Because...

~ We will be there from 9/30 - 10/6 (so the same dates as yall!)
~ We are toying with the idea of staying at AoA AND...
~ My son, Jake, turns 5 years old on Sept 23 and this is his big 5th Birthday Trip! :woohoo:

AWESOME :cool1: We will have to keep eachother posted on our discoveries and plans for the week of "our" vacation! LOL.

I had to tell you .. my girls both have October birthdays! Briar will be 5 on the 16th, and Clover will be 1 on the 4th :goodvibes

I can't believe the holidays are almost over. They snuck up fast. But it's great because in less than a week we can say we're going to Disney World this year!

Yay! That's exciting! I have 9 months and a day until our trip! So it's like the long boring wait of a pregnancy but I get to give birth to a DISNEY WORLD trip instead of a crying baby!:rolleyes1

I just think this is awesome. Ry and Briar are only 14 days apart!!! How is the little Princess C?

She's wonderful! Getting fat on all that breast milk LOL!

We actually planned our dates in October so we didn't hit either girls' birthday while there.. I wouldn't want to try and explain that one to my boys!

This thing is getting boring—so for all of you loyal readers, here is some actual planning. Any new readers, or lurkers- HELLO!!!!! And WELCOME!

So since we aren’t going at all during the weekend before or after our week, I really hope we get blessed with great EMH and low crowds! Also, while it isn’t yet a definite that we are attending… I hope there is a MNSSHP during that week if we decide to purchase tickets after we pay our balance down a little. Since it is so early in October and during the week, I’m worried they may not have one if we do choose to go.

Here are our (hopeful) first day plans!

We are flying out at 7am I believe. We live about 40 minutes from Philly International (even though we still live in the city!) so we will probably leave our house at about 5:20 … HOLY MOLY! Ryan and I especially are NOT morning people. Since my parents are driving and leaving the night before we have to find someone drive us to the airport. My parents will have most of the luggage, we will have carry-ons (1 for me, Ryan, and Joey) so we get to avoid checking our bags and getting our bags when we land in ORLANDO!!!! @ around 9!

Hopefully after hopping on the Magic Express and getting to AoA it will only be about 11-11:30. Does that sound reasonable? Or should I plan on it taking longer? After checking in we are hopping on the first bus that says MAGIC KINGDOM!!! And heading over to see that wonderful castle for Ryan’s first time!! I believe we are going to meet my cousin Dennis who lives in Florida as he has requested taking Ry on his first Dumbo ride.

Things we plan on doing in the morning half of our first day:
Columbia Harbor House for Lunch (3 CS meals)
-Space Ranger Spin
-Dumbo
-And Splash Mountain.
And some characters
And hopefully a parade!!!

At some point in the afternoon we are hoping to get two phone calls. One from the hotel saying our room is ready (if it wasn’t earlier) and one from my parents saying they have arrived! We are going to go to the room and hopefully take a small break.

I want to be back in the park by 5 or 6 for dinner at
Cosmic Rays or Pecos bills? (5 CS meals) – hopefully as long as my parents have arrived. Otherwise it’s just 3 again!
Then
-Jungle Cruise
-Peter Pan
-it’s a small world
And maybe -Pirates
And some fireworks

Does this seem like too much? I don’t really know…
Like I said hopefully some evening EMH! Fingers crossed.
Then bedtime in our “loud” cars suite!! Ahaha. Although I looked at pictures of the progress of the hotel and they showed some room pictures and it did not look as bright!

UHOH!!! If I am reading the crowd calander right it says this day for Magic Kingdom is a 7.9 :( I'm still going here because I just think this should be the first park but I have to remember to keep in mind I may not be able to get everything done in this park that first day- Which is fine because I have other half days here

Next Post

MNSSHP starts in mid-September. Based on last years dates, it looks like the week we're there, the parties will be held 9/30, 10/4, and 10/5.

I say go for Cosmic Rays. You get dinner AND a show. Plus there are so many choices. It's yummy!

I think your first day sounds great!!

Where are you readers? I mean don't you all just sit on the DIS during your hours of free time each day??!! :lmao:

Anyway - I think since Joey is working so hard on making sure we can go to Disney- I want to suprise him with a night at the POLY!! Does anyone know if we can transfer airfare to another day with US?

What is your first day?

October 1

Ok yeah I had read somewhere that Mondays can be a very busy day for Disney as a lot of people start their vacation on Mondays. The very next day is only a 2.8 or something like that. So just do what you can on the Monday and then go to MK first thing in the morning on Tuesday to do the rest! :)

I'm glad we have Park hoppers and 8 full days (might add one more) to explore the parks. I think I should be an expert on all this stuff in another 9 months! lol

Yea that makes sense about the Monday thing. I don't want to change my plans but I'm scared that since it will just be me and Joey by ourselves with Ryan for the first half of the day we might get overwhelmed. :confused3 I think we need an extra day ....... hmmmmm.

Question still stands- can you transfer airfare????

Hi Annie! I've followed you over from the "October 2012 Thread". Ryan is absolutely adorable! He's going to be a Lady Killer for sure. And the Princesses will just eat him up! I love reading you PTR. It just adds to my OCD planning our trip. :rotfl:

I don't know about U.S., but usually you can make changes to airfare for a fee of $50 or $100 per ticket.

Extra day sounds awesome!! :) I have no idea about airfare.

I think instead of doing another day we will just be sure to do MNSSHP. Ryan isn't into rides or strangers/characters (as of yet)...so I think we will kinda just keep this trip really low key and then maybe bring him back sooner then we would have if he likes it.

I just don't want Ryan to have a bad time so we are going to stick with our plan... he is already telling us he doesn't want to sleep there! LoL

As far as the airfare goes, the best course would be to call your airline and find out from them if you can change it. Most airlines will allow you to change it, but will probably charge a change fee. The only airline I know of that doesn't is Southwest, which is one of the reasons I like them :)

I'm around and I am reading, I just don't always comment :lmao:
