My twins' room is freezing! - Update

Well, I called the realtor who sold us this house. He gave me the name of another heating and air guy and said he would talk to the builder about our problems. It's a two story house, with two units. The top unit isn't big enough for the second floor and it couldn't keep up with the heat this summer. That problem doesn't bother me nearly as much as my babies freezing, but it would be nice to be able to use our upstairs in July and August (it was always 80 degrees!). Thanks for all of the advice! I'll keep you all posted!

I agree with some of the above posters.

The blower in the HV/AC unit may be too small to adequately circulate air.

The ductwork to the room may be cut off. It is possible the duct is blocked, crushed, or even a blind end. The contractor may not have completed a connection between the main ducts and the room.
(Do you feel any air coming from the vent in the room?)

Does the room have a return air vent? This might make a room differ in temps, but I don't think it would be more than a degree or two.

My bedroom is freezing too. And my sisters' room is the exact opposite, it's like an oven in there.

Well, someone looked in the attic today and noticed that the ducts are crimped. He quoted $200 to fix the ductwork in two places, said he will start tomorrow, but that it will take two days. I'm so glad to finally have a good explanation for the problem! I called the builder, but he hasn't returned my phone call. This should be under the new home warranty, but I'm not holding my breath for the money.

That's good that there seems to ba a concrete problem that can be fixed!

Our bedrooms are a little warmer now that my DH opened the damper that "was already open".

She woke up at 5am and I went in there, she had kicked the covers off and her little toes and fingers were freezing and she had socks on!! I woke him up and said "Feel the baby!!!" He saw I was not a happy camper!

This made me because I can totally see myself doing this exact same thing!
