Just thought I'd post to say I DID IT!!!! I survived my trip to WDW using an ECV for the first time.
I needed the scooter due to foot problems which have arisen in the last 2 years. I was so nervous I can't tell you, but I managed fine.
We stayed at the Dolphin Resort and the scooter was there waiting for me in the left luggage room. I rented from Walker Mobility. I was a little disappointed with the appearance of the scooter - the seat was slightly lopsided and the scooter had seen better days, but it did the job so that's the important thing!
The WDW buses were my biggest worry and I must admit that some days I struggled to get the scooter into the space on the bus but the drivers were very helpful and we got there eventually!
The boats to MGM and EPCOT were very easy to board. The monorail we only used once but wasn't as keen on that, there isn't much room for manouvre at all and I had someone else in an ECV behind me, and they had to reverse off to let me out.
All in all I had a great trip, even better than I thought I would have and now can't wait to go back again.
I would just like to say a BIG thankyou to everyone on this board who gave me advice and help with the ins and outs of using an EVC and if anyone has any particular questions I will do my best to help.
