Whew! Just got home a couple of hours ago and can't believe that I'm already on line talking Disney again! You guys know how that is, though.
Well, I set myself up for a little bit of trouble on this trip. This was initially a cash ressie for two nights at OKW (since BCV was already booked) and three at BCV. Then, after closing, I made my last nights at each resort a points stay. Well, at check-in at OKW, we were surprised to find out our cash ressies were upgraded from a 1-bedroom to a 2-bedroom. Unfortunately, though, they couldn't switch either night to match the other reservations, so that required us to switch rooms for that two-night stay. But - WOW - those 2-bedrooms at OKW are huge! The resort was very nice, and the 1-bedrooms are very spacious also compared to BCV rooms. Unfortunately, it rained on our parade, literally, and that put a damper on that portion of our trip. Besides the hassle of changing rooms, the only other two problems I had were never receiving a wake-up call I requested and not liking lugging my suitcases up stairs. Otherwise, I think OKW is a cool place...but, it didn't feel like "home" to us. Oh yeah, we were in building 27 for both nights (close to what Nick&Cindy suggested I think - and I really liked the central location)
Then we went to BCV. The same problem was initially encountered there - they had our cash ressies upgraded. This time they were able to just bump us back down to the one-bedroom we initially reserved and we were able to stay in one room the whole time. Unfortunately, the first room we were offered was not in the best shape - damaged wall, gunk on the sofa, a couple of gouges in wood. We called just to alert them that there was the damage so we wouldn't be blamed, and we were offered a new room. We were in 319, which was nice and close to the elevator. If I had to nitpick, I like the bigger balconies better. And we discovered something about that feeling of "home"...tell me if we are nuts here. We were thrilled when we stepped into 319 and found it was facing the right way! Both other times we stayed at BCV, the room was set up with the bedroom and bathroom to the right, and the first room we got this trip was flipped. That is not why we switched - we did because they told us to. But once we did, we were so much more "at home."
Saw the gator for the first time. Very, very cool. The weather perked up by the time we got to BCV, so we enjoyed SAB. Funny - I know it was supposedly quite busy at WDW last week, but we didn't find it to be over-crowded. Ride lines and Fastpass waits weren't bad. SAB was quite empty. Food & Wine was FUN - we had dinner there twice. Oh, and we did the Family Magic Tour. Our DDs are 7 and 4 and it was worth every cent. Oh yeah, and met a member at SAB that doesn't know about DIS. I sent her this way.
All in all, a really good trip. We're already looking forward to next year and using our 11-month window to make sure we can stay in one room at BCV the whole week. And, after the past two days, we're flying next time!
