Day TWO
woke up early with a wake up call from Mickey at 7:30am. Today we are going to ANIMAL KINGDOM
Hooray!
We were out the door by 8 and stopped by the little store by food court and bought some fruit for breakfast. Ed, (my friend who arrived last night) was able to get the same kind of ticket deal that we had. We caught the next bus to AK and were on our way.
Weather was cloudy but comfortably warm. Forcast called for thunderstorms, looked like it certainly could have rained but it never did. We brought our rain coats just in case. It turned out to be very warm all day, and partly sunny but hazy.
The crowds were moderate. We didn't wait more than 10 mins for anything, some rides didn't even have the fast pass open because the waits were so short.
We did the safari in africa first. It was fabulous of course. We explored the rest of africa and then headed to asia for the kali river rapids. We rode that then did the jungle trek, then rode the rapids again. We didn't get too soaked, but I'll tell you what, the lady across from me got drenched. OMG! it was crazy, it was as though a tidal wave hit her. I felt sorry for her.
We had lunch at my most favorite spot at AK. the Tusker house restaurant in Harambe. They have THE BEST ROSITSSORIE CHICKEN ever. I had that the last time I went to AK.
After a good lunch we explored more. Tough to be a bug was fun. I think it was a bad decision to take kayla on Dinosaur. I forgot how scarry it was. She didn't open her eyes once and was buried in my arms.
We left AK, pretty pooped, around 3ish I think it was. My feet were killing me. We relaxed at hotel for a little bit. We decided to swim and then go to MGM for Fantasmic! that evening. We ran into a little problem after our swim. I only grabbed one room key to take with. It was kayla's. Well, we discovered that it was not a room key. so we were locked out. Ed walked to the dig site to use a house phone. While we were waiting tho a resort worker let us in our room. And told us that they usually don't make kids cards room keys too. But I specifically told the girl at check in to make it a key. OH WELL.
At about 6 we were on the bus to MGM. We loved Fantasmic! Ed and I have seen it before (in 2000), it seemed like there were some changes. I was practically in tears with joy. That magic really gets me sometimes and tickles my heart. Kayla loved it!
We were hungry for dinner and decided to try to go to rainforest cafe at Downtown Dis. So we hopped on the bus from MGM to take us there. Limped our way threw the crowds (my feet were killing me) to RC to find out that there was a 2 hour wait! ugh! what were we thinking? So we decided to settle with mcDonalds, and headed back to CS.
Soaked our achy muscles and feet in the jaccuzzi. (it's so great that the pools are open til midnight) Went to bed around 10:30pm.
The end of a wonderful day.
