Hi All,

Just a quick question.. do My Travel flights have seat back tv's???

DD and her boyfriend want to go on their own for the first time in June, and want a cheap deal, but still with a few comforts!!!

Tracy

I've just booked with these and have had a quick look on their travel magazine online. It gives you a list of alternative films on the seatback tv so I'm assuming they do.

One inch more legroom than Monarch though!! a full thirty inches, which is the same as Virgin and Ukraine International!!:thumbsup2

We went with Mytravel last year. The planes did have seat back TVs and even the nose camera for a great view of take off and landing! Also had the downstairs toilets which were a bit of a novelty! Food was good, staff were excellent, thoroughly enjoyed our flights.

This is good to hear, I have never flown My Travel but am doing so in August. I'm a nervous flyer so it's good to hear good reviews, not to sure about that take off and landing camera though:scared:

Thanks everyone!

Have been doing a search for the cheapest deal for two weeks in June for DD and her boyfriend.. and My Travel seem far the cheapest.. They can both go for 2 weeks staying at the Best Western ID + small car, for less than £1,000!

It's cheaper for them to go on their own in June than it is get to get flights in July! Ridiculous isn't it! The cheapest flights for mid July (DD wants seatback TV) are working out at a total of £1200.

Just highlights the benefits of being able to go outside school holidays!!

Thanks again!

Tracy

We flew with MyTravel last year and didn't have seatback TVs. We were in the premium cabin and they gave us handheld video players.

hi, i work for the company that check-in my travel at gatwick, and can inform you that the seats do have tvs in them, i have spoken to alot of people over the years and they all seem to have a good view on my travel flights, one thing i would say is that check-in gets very busy very quickly so either pre book your seats or get there early to adviod dissapointment, hope this helps;) ;) :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

As long as you are actually flying on a My Travel plane should be good. We travelled back in 2000 with them and had seat back tvs which were excellent. However, the last 2 years booking with Airtours whose planes are My Travel, I believe, they have used Monarch planes from our local airport. These do not have seat back tvs in the normal seats but were perfectly okay flights, nothing to complain about. You can check in the brochure which planes are actually being used.

Hi Wicket,
Sorry don't do brochures... do everything on line.
If I understand you correctly, if you book with MyTravel, you definitely get seatback TV's, but if you book through Airtours, you risk the chance of being put onto a monarch flight??
If that's the case... DD will just book through My Travel!!!
Thanks!
Tracy

I thought Airtours and MyTravel were the same company, ie MyTravel was a newer name but please anyone correct me if I am wrong.

What I was trying to say is you have to check which carrier is being used from which airport. For example if I book today with MyTravel the carrier used from Newcastle is a Monarch one and doesn't have seat back tvs. Usually MyTravel uses their own planes from the bigger airports. You can see when booking online which carrier is being used.

Just don't presume they are using their own planes if having seat back tvs is important.

Basically I think the planes sell so many seats to different tour operators. We certainly travelled last year with a selection not just Airtours. This year we have booked with TCS but are flying with Virgin.

We fly with Monarch through Airtours from Newcastle, are the seats 3-3-3, can you tell me anymore.

They were 3 3 3, though at the back there are some 2's at either side. We have travelled been with Monarch on two holidays now and have no complaints about them at all. They have overhead tvs which were perfectly okay if you wanted to watch the film.

I've flown on that route a few times. The planes are ok but basic. It's worth paying for the extra legroom at check-in but only if you don't get put next to a toilet. Don't sit in the back few rows if you can avoid it as you get the queues for the toilets there as well.

Thanks Graeme.
Don't think we can have extra leg room as we have a 9 year old. We plan on going early, as we have not reserved our seats, so hopefully we can get near the front. Whats the food like?
