I just saw my ticker and it totally freaked me out. Only 2 months and 2 weeks!!!! This is so crazy. I still need an officiant and hair/make-up person. Everything else is pretty much settled. I am really dragging my heels on the officiant. Raul wants it all in Spanish b/c some relatives don't speak English. Although it is a nice sentiment, our primary language is English and for some reason, I am just dreading the phone calls with the various officiants. Oh well...hopefully tomorrow :rolleyes1

I used Rev Jack Day...he was GREAT. I think he only speaks Eng, but he was worth it. The cost $250. He is one of Disney's prefered officiants. For hair / make-up I used anna from make-over-majic also on their prefered list. She was really great too. She came right to the room and had everything we needed. She did many varities of updos and also long hair looks. She was a lot of fun. These are a few you may want to consider. :hourglass

We are using Rev. Miller and absolutely love him. He sends us e-mails all the time just to check in. I can't wait to meet him!

I am also using Rev Jack Day and Anna from Makeover Magic - i have spoken with her on the phone and she is really sweet!

I would strongly suggest you get in contact with the officiants.

My guess is that Rev. Jack is already booked (he is VERY popular), and you may find your first choice (whoever that may be) is booked too.

YOU'VE ONLY GOT TWO MONTHS, GIRL!! ;) :teeth:

Try not to stress too much (easier said than done, I know). But, really, do try to take a moment each day to think about what all this means (you're getting MARRIED to the man you LOVE!!!) and make sure you both say "I love you" once a day! ;)

My stress seemed to get worse and worse as I got closer and I just about freaked out the day before (as we were arriving in Orlando)...but it all worked out wonderfully. Your time will be just as magical, I'm sure!

:grouphug:

(now call those officiants!!!) ;)

I don't know if you know this, but in Florida Notary Publics can perform weddings (I am a Notary and this was part of the training I had to do) so your options for officiants is pretty large. Like hiwaygal said, I suggest you start calling ASAP since it's so close.

For the Spanish vs. English question, if you can get a bi-lingual officiant you could do what a friend of mine did, she was married in church and her family spoke primarily Spanish, the groom's spoke exclusively English. The mass was said in English but the wedding ceremony was said in English and Spanish, and it was really beautiful. You could say your vows in both languages and be pronounced "husband and wife" in both languages. That would be a nice sentiment to all family members. Rev. Jack is wonderful but I don't think he's bi-lingual if you go with that option.

DH had a ticker on his computer but I avoided that, no need to add to the stress :goodvibes

As I sat in bed worried last night, I decided that my DF will handle the officiant situation. I had already contacted Rev Jack, but Raul wants someone to speak Spanish (we will do our vows in English). DFTW provided me with a contact, so I passed it along to him with a list of questions. I then gave my MOH (sister) the list of cosmetologists with another list of questions. I am a control freak and I usually take care of everything myself. Not this time! I realized that I really need to enlist those around me to make this all happen. I will take care of flowers and photography today too. Thanks for your support!!! :teeth:

I know how you feel about being freaked out  ....I'm getting very close to our date and I still have so much left to do. I'm still working on getting the welcome bags done on top of a bunch of other things....but we'll get it done somehow :teeth: Hang in there, I'm sure you will get everything finished too :goodvibes

Laura :bride:

Is there any way you could get a family member, possibly a grandparent or parent, to partially translate or "share" responsibility with the offic.? This way it would be bi-lingual and the choosen family member(s) would feel honored to be given such an important role in your ceremony. Just an idea. :)
