My thoughts after first Disney Cruise

1) I never saw any other doors decorated. I scoped out 4 floors, and there was not one. I definitely stressed out about it way too much.

2) The service was fantastic. Our servers made us feel like the only guests there. The food was just okay, although the presentation was always immaculate. And, the buffets bordered on bad, IMO.

3) The noise in an aft stateroom was not as bad as I had feared (or read about on the internet). There was a lot of vibration when docking, but that was it.

4) I was disappointed in the Kids' Club. I think it may have only been an issue in the age group of my kids, though. I saw kids of other ages out doing fun things. Ours was very disorganized, and when I went to pick them up, I was told to 'come in and look around for them'. I finally found them in the computer room. There was only one counselor in that room, and she was on the phone. There were 2 other adults in there who I assume were parents. But, I thought the kids should be brought to the front, not the parents allowed to wander around with other children and few counselors. I did not feel comfortable using it again. But, this was a family vacation, so I didn't plan on using it much anyway.

5) Embarkation and Disembarkation were a breeze. Easiest I've ever been through.

6) Take your pillowcases! It was so nice to not have to stress about the autographs.

7) Our stateroom attendant was wonderful!

8) You guys weren't kidding when you talked about hand sanitation. My goodness, there are stations everywhere. I loved it! Evidently, some kids did get sick, but it was not the fault of Disney.

9) The Mickey pool is lots of fun, but WAY TOO SMALL for a ship designed for families.

10) Last but not least, the very best thing about the Wonder were the shows. They are amazing and made up for some of the more disappointing parts of the cruise!

I found that not many cabins seem to decorate their door on the shorter trips (i.e. the Wonder).

Did you get a chance to check out any of the adult only areas? Pool, shows, etc? Our first cruise is next May, however my child coming will be 19! Look forward to any other comments. How about seasickness?

Thanks for a concise report. Great service and amazing shows, and a clean ship, nice to know.

I also just returned from my first DCL cruise (despite what my now obsolete ticker says!;) )-maybe the same one that OP was on. IMHO opinion the best parts of the cruise were the adult-only pool on the ship and Serenity Bay (also adult-only) on Castaway Cay. The beach was amazing! I didn't want to leave! The bbq provided was delicious and the experience was SOOO relaxing. We were on deck 5 aft and did notice the vibration but none of us were seasick. The movement was often obvious but we felt it more in our heads than our stomachs. I think that might have been due to the speed of the ship. I also had a mat on my Disney artwork autographed and that was very easy. We plan to book a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise in 2010. We had a couple of magnets on our doors but the marker for my dry erase board was stolen the first day so I'll attach it better the next time. I put our names on the magnets to discourage theft and I'll do the same with the board. We are looking forward to our next DCL cruise!
