The "resort intolerance" on this forum has baffled me. I have a theory.
The DIS DVC forum certainly attracts a greater percentage of die-hard park fanatics than the general DVC owner population. These park fanatics(or "theme fanatics") cannot accept that someone might actually prefer a resort that is not within walking distance of a park, because it conflicts with their world-view.
My conclusion is that: Intolerance of OKW and SSR lovers is really the defense of a world-view. To accept another world view would cause complete psychological meltdown. Their park-religion must be defended at all costs, even to the extent of using un-DIS like, demeaning arguments.
On the other side, the SSR and OKW lovers are put on the defensive. They get combative and retaliate with equally un-DIS like language.
I think a short course in resort tolerance should be provided by the DIS. Are we not ALL HUMAN? Personally, as an OKW-American I can learn to live with the SSR-Americans, the BWV-Americans, the BCV-Americans, etc, etc. Can you??

Just a thought.
Regardless, this board provides an invaluable and free service to us all! It allows us to exchange thoughts and ideas freely. You may not agree with the words being spoken - but - thank god we have a forum to exchange them!
My only disappointment is the verocity in which the arguments are stated in some posts - it is not needed. To disagree is acceptable. To argue a point is fine. But, there is no reason to offend anyone.
With the last statement in mind, I think 99% of the posts are well intentioned and do it in a constructive manner!
