The last time I wrote about my first day trip with my very own car, it was in the CB. This time, I will relflect my thoughts here. Just to let you know, these theme park goers aren't that typical. We were all ether locals or visitors that know Orlando well. Without further ado, let me report our weekend jaunts to the theme parks!

Friday (3/2)

My brother Justin arrived at the University of Central Florida yesterday by bus. He is visiting for his Spring Break. Since my dorm room was rather small in size, he really could sleep in my room. Luckily, one of my roommates was out of town and left his door open, so he slept there. Since I love to rise early to go to the parks, I woke up around 7am to find that someone approached my car with a green envelope. I rushed to soon find that I got a parking ticket for parking in the faculity parking lot! What a way to start off the day! At least it wasn't that costly, like $15 dollars, but still that could've gone towards some food!

Shortly after paying my ticket, we went on our way out on Alafaya Trail to get to the 408 and eventually 1-4. When you see the Sheraton tower in the background, you know you are almost at Universal Orlando. Around 9:00 or so, we arrived to the MASSIVE parking lot they have. It costs $7.00 just to park there, which is something I didn't like, but at least you can park there and not be far off or something. We begin to walk on the infamous people movers of the parking lot, into the heart of the UO. Shortly, we begin to head towards Islands of Adventure, a park that I have attended at least twice already. This is my brother's first visit to IOA, so it should be much of suprise to him.

Usually when I come here, I start heading for Marvel Super Hero Island first. I couldn't believe how crowded it was at this time of day. When you have groups from Argentina and those for Disney's magic music days, you are going to wait a while on line. For about 25-30 minutes, I heard constant clapping and singing. At first it was cute, but after a while, it really gets on your nerves. We ended up talking with a guy who was from Rhode Island, which ironically is where my brother goes to now. (Johnson and Wales). As usual, I enjoyed Hulk and I remembered now how to reduce as much discomfort as possible. If you don't want headaches, please have your head on the headrests!. This is why I got pain by not following those instructions. The ride gives you "intense gamma forces" anyway! Funny, the entire time I was hysterically laughing and my brother was sort of shocked, especially at the LI.

About one of the funniest things I've encountered happened after riding Hulk. Someone forgot to use the lockers and their money and sunglasses ended up on the netting! Since the wind was picking up a bit, the money started to move a bit. Many people were looking up ahead, wondering if the money came their way. In jest, I tried to shake the supports of the coaster, but that wouldn't work! Soon, a few bills started to fly, one went into the lake and another started heading towards my brother. A mob rushed for the paper, and one lucky guy caught it. Unfortunlatley, the cast..er employee big heads had to take it away from him. :( I don't know what went on after that, but I bet Universal kept that money!

With tourist groups doubling the time wait for Spiderman, we two decided to try out the new Express system. For those wondering, it is similar in function to FastPass, but there are few differences. First, you can choose two times to come back, second, if you have a two day pass you can get up to 3 at a time. Another difference is that its available for just about every ride in IOA. However, just like FP is now for MuppetVision, is UE needed for Storm Accelerator? Need I say more.

Since I've already explained about my ride experiences in the past (In the Universal board), I won't really go into detail. By 2pm, we were finished at wanted to eat. I wish the other people movers were working that day. For the most part, we had to walk most of the way back to "Jaws", our parking area. One neat thing about the parking lot. They play the music from the movie/property its associated with! So heading toward my car, we heard faint sounds of the violin...

We couldn't decide on where to go, so we headed off to Downtown Disney and ate Mc Donalds. I'm really beginning to hate their food! I like Wendy's better since it's more filling, but not matte which way you go, their both bad for your health.

The collector in me wanted me to look for something in particular. Since my brother is really not in it, we got into a little argument over the merchandise thing. Eventually we got over that, but I don't get it, I'm a sucker to Disney stuff, especially...well, you can understand at the end of this! I was looking for Twriling Minnie, a special bean bag that was just released for some event held at Wide World of Sports I believe. At first, I was so pysched in finding it, but after a little thinking, I decided not to buy it! I was thinking about putting one one eBay since one went for $50.00 recently. Maybe next time, I'll pick her up. I return a lot of things so I won't really be wasting money.

We went to Epcot around 3:00 or 4p. There was something in the parking lot that intrigued me. Some frames were set up and I wondered a lot about them. Perhaps they were building something for the upcoming attraction Mission Space. Since my brother thinks I'm a know-it-all to Disney, he kept on asking me questions! This is why I'm beginning to think I know way too much about the Disney theme parks! To the uniformed, I'm now an "expert".

Anyway, we first headed to pin central. Since I like being a opportunist, I decided to pick up a few LE pins and sell them on eBay. Hey, I need some money, so its a good ideal to me! We were going to see the American Adventure, but we decided to see it tommorow. After the ferry ride, I waited for the character bus to make its run while my brother hunted an ATM. This time, the variation of characters weren't as much as the last time I saw it. I remember seeing Jimmiy Cricket on this thing once! Well, at least it had the Fab 6. The one thing I found wonderful about this meet is that EVERYONE, young and small were waiting on line to meet them! I saw a disabled girl meet Mickey and Minnie and it broke my heart to see them greet her! Using my digital camera, snapped Minnie (of course) and Tigger. The CM's seem to have a hard time using my camera though.

Another dumb thing that I shouldn't have done there was yonking the tail of Donald Duck. It must have been the caffine that affected my mind! Anyway, security almost kicked me out, but I apologized. I should have done the same to Donald!

How frightful, we didn't do any attractions here! Thats O.K., this park is seriously lacking it anyway. We headed for Downtown Disney again to see a movie. Planet Hollywood had the red carpet out and that meant STARGAZING! For about close to two hours, we waited to see who would pull up. I bet they had some celebrity golf tourament fund rasier for the United Negro College Fund. I don't recall everyone that walked by, but I'll try to name a few. Dick Numis (an Important Disney big wig, I was the only one that noticed), Marcus Allen (Minn Vikings), Matt Lauer (Today), Lesile Nilsen (Naked Gun), Richard Roundtree (The original "Shaft") one of the Backdoor boys I think, Stuart Scott (of ESPN) and Bryant Gumbel. That's all I can remember for now.

9:00p rolled by and we went to the AMC to see "Down to Earh" starring Chirs Rock. I thought that the critics were absolutely wrong when they panned this film. They just didn't get Rock's humor, which not all can really get. I bet its like he were Jerry Seinfeild me, I can't get any humor from him at ALL. After that, we hung around Virgin and shortly after 12 am, we headed towards home, very tired!
