I had sent this email to Guest Relations right when I got home from our trip. A few days later I got a call from Disney saying that every cast member I mentioned in my email was notified of my compliments and a copy of the email was going into their file. Just found the email again so I figured I'd post it here in case one of them is lurking! :) Like I said in the email, even though the things done for us weren't earth shattering, it seriously helped make our trip memorable!

I was just wanted to send an email to recognize and compliment a few of Disney's great cast members. My mother and I were vacationing at Disney World Dec 2 - Dec 9, 2007 and because of a few great cast members, our trip was exceptional. Even today, I still think about the cast members that went beyond their requirements and helped us out. Sadly I don't have last names or where they were originally from but I hope their first name and place they work is enough!

We stayed at Pop Century, and the instant we arrived, we were greeted at the line for check-in by Bob. He was 'herding' new people in line and directing them to open check in areas at the front desk. He started our trip off right with a smile and a great conversation. My mom mentioned that she hoped all of the cast members we interact with are just as great as he was. He definitely put a smile on our faces and got us into the Disney spirit!

On our very first night, we ate at Kona at the Polynesian. Donna was our server, and she was amazing. It was our first time on the dining plan and even though her area was pretty busy, she made sure to stay with us a little longer and explain everything. She went above and beyond when my mother didn't really care for her meal (she's a very picky eater!) and came up with suggestions and brought out additional condiments to help make my mother happy. I know it doesn't sound like much, but she was one of the kindest people we have met on property.

Another night of our stay we ate at Chefs de France, with Sebastian being our server. Again, he was phenomenal. We never needed to ask for anything and he was one of the sweetest people. He went out of his way to make sure that we were happy and had everything. We talked about his stay in the US, and where he was from in France. I don't remember when he mentioned he was heading back, but hopefully he will still be there next time I visit in a few months.

At One Mans Dream at MGM Studios, I had known about the quiz you can ask to take at the entrance. I, of course, forgot and didn't remember until halfway through. Sue, a cast member, directed us back towards the front of the exhibit and told us to ask at the door. When we did, the cast member there had no idea what we were talking about. When we saw Sue again, we told her what happened and she quickly ran off to find the quiz for us herself. She appeared a few minutes later with the quiz but since the movie was starting soon, she told us to watch the movie and then head back into the exhibit so we can complete the quiz. When the movie was over and the doors opened, Sue was standing right there in the doorway looking for us to make sure we were able to get back in. She waved us back in and let us wander around trying to find answers. When we were stumped on the last answer she helped us out with where to look. We had a great conversation about Walt Disney with her and then had to head out for dining reservations. Before we left, she ran into the back and handed us our honorary historian certificate. We thanked her a million times for all of her help and then headed out.

And last but not least, our last day in the Magic Kingdom, we were in Frontierland and ran into a trio of cast members/cowboys playing instruments. I wish I had gotten their names and/or band name but I never did. My mother and I were the only two that stopped to listen to them play and we got into a conversation with them. They asked my mom to request a song, and when she did, they jumped right into it. It was one of the smallest things, but it made my mothers day. She's been through a rough few years and this trip was her first in 15 years. The cowboys might have been her favorite part of the trip! A grown, 63 year old woman, was smiling for the rest of the day and kept talking about her 'cowboys'. I just wanted to thank them for making my mom smile.

I know the stories aren't earth shattering, but the cast members mentioned definitely let an impression on us to this day. On previous trips, I was sadly coming to the realization that the Disney magic was fading in the cast members but this past trip made me see that things are improving again. I hope this email doesn't get lost somewhere and that somehow the cast members that made our trip so memorable can be thanked.

Thanks for all the memories!
