Now, the part of the trip you have all been waiting for........(can you hear the drum roll?).....its the VIP TOUR!!!!
When I last left off, we were all waiting in the shade out by the "C" for our
guides to show up so we could get this party started. We were all standing
around when off in the distance we see three bodies moving towards us. They weren't one of us since there was no sight of Martini shirts on them, creatively stretched or not. But what I did see was plaid. Now this could only be catholic school girls, William Wallace wannabes or our guides. Surprise
surprise, it was our guides.
Lesley went up to them first and got things started. The guides introduced
themselves to us and before we knew it we were on our way. Now, it wasn't
exactly how I expected it. We sort of strolled down Main St while they talked about various things. Offering some trivia and general chit chat. The first thing we all wanted to do was take a picture in front of the castle as a group. That had to be one of the best moments. The pics came out great and it made for a great memory.
After the pic in front of the castle we broke up into three groups. Lesley had
already broken it down for us. So that went smoothly. The groups were broken up in to groups of 10. It appeared that most everyone was placed into groups with their roomies and friends. All seemed to be happy with the groups.
Our guide was Ryan.
He was a really nice guy. Just to much of a low talker for most of the tour. If you weren't super close to him you would miss what he was saying. So in trying to hear him, it looked like we were all trying to be all up on him or something. Not quite the case.
Now this is where things went a bit odd I think. I guess I thought that the
tour would be more structured.

It was more of him asking us what we wanted to do and then us doing it. He would provide information and tidbits and was ready to answer all our questions. But in my thinking that it was a structured tour, I kept waiting for it to start. Once I got over that, then it was fine.
We first went and grabbed fast passes for Indy. Why I needed a VIP tour guide to help me with that, I have no idea. But thankfully he was there because there was someone, I won't name names (cough amy cough) who had some issue working the fast pass machine. Luckily Ryan was there to help her put her pass back in and retrieve her fast pass with no further problems. Tour guide Ryan, you're my hero.
We rode POTC and HM with Ryan. He had more info and tidbits to tell us about both rides. But once again, if you weren't right up with him, you missed out on what he was saying. I'm not sure who, but someone was lucky enough to ride with him on HM. While in the queue is when we noticed his hiney.
After this is when we went over to the train to ride the Lillybelle. So did another group. We rock paper sissored it and got to ride. They were going to go to the next station to get their turn.
Now that was a real treat. I always wanted to ride in it. It was great learning about the history of it and seeing all the items inside of it. Heck, it made us feel special to be able to ride in it. The only thing, I wished it had AC. The little fans just weren't doing it enough for me. The bummer part was that we only got to ride part of the trip and had to get off at the next station for the other group to have their turn on it. BOOOOOO!
After we hopped off the Lilly Belle we made our way through FantasyLand. At this point we started begging Ryan to take us on Peter Pan, but not make us wait in line. I was hoping being a VIP would mean something you know. He kindly explained to us that he could not do that. He was not allowed to impact the rides with tour groups. I told him that if he really wanted to, he could make it happen. No luck though. Damn!
Ryan then showed us where the original center of the park was. He explained how it was the center before more lands were built. What the spike was made of. And who helped to drive it in.
It was decided that we hop over to DCA to do stuff over there. Before though, we made a stop at Main St Station. I had never taken the time to check everything out in there. And even if I did, I would not have known what it all was. Ryan explained everything and answered our questions. I loved the part about the train that Walt had in his back yard. It was very interesting to know that Main St Station is considered a historic landmark.
Once we got to DCA, the first thing everyone wanted to do was ToT. That just really isn't my ride to be honest. I did ride it the day before. But I wasn't sure about today. Especially when they said they were going to take the pic while on their cell phones. Ummm, sorry. I need both my hands free so I can hold on for my life. There will be no cell phones out when I ride. So I told them to go on without me. I needed a potty break and was getting a head ache so I needed a coke. When I got over to ToT, I saw that I wasn't the only one who opted not to ride. I decided to sit more to myself in some shade and partake in a fave past time of mine.....people watching!
We made a quick trip over to Monsters Inc and that's when we were able to get Ryan to let loose a bit. We were teasing him about about he sexy plaid outfit and those hot polyester blend pants. He came back with a poll that was done on myspace about the "hot" uniforms of Disney. Amy and I are sure that Ryan wears his uniform out to the clubs to pick up on the ladies.

Oh yeah! We also found out all about the cleaning of his pants, what they are allowed to ride and not ride while giving a tour and many other facinating things.
The Play Parade was just about to start so Ryan said he could get us somewhere close to see. We all assumed it would be the priority seating....wrong! He just kinda moved us in front of the information booth practically in front of other guests.

That was a bit odd. I really didn't need to see the parade. I had just seen it the week before. But it was nice and shady where we were at so that was nice.
After the parade we moved on back to DL. Ryan took us up to the preferred seating area on the platform outside Main St Station where we sat to relax. He needed to take his break (mandatory per CA law) so he left us but said he would come back. At that time, the lowering of the flag was starting. It was the first time I got a chance to do that.
The other groups showed up and Lesley let us know who was able to do which preferred seating when. We were all able to see the parade from that location though. It was nice to be able to sit and relax on a bench to see the parade. Ryan showed up after his break to let us know that there was an error and he would not be touring with us like he thought. I found out later that Katie and Steph tipped him for all of us. Don't ask me why I forgot to do that. But I was able to give the girls my share later.
At this time most everyone started scattering about. Some went to the room to rest, others went to eat, some took off to ride more rides and some went to go have some wine. What did Amy and I do?......we sat on the bench. It was gonna take an act of God to get us moving. We knew we wanted to eat. We knew we wanted to ride some rides. We knew we wanted to do other stuff. But we didn't want to move. So we just sat there. How long did we sit there for?........you will have to wait and see.
