You can't get the difference back but if you call SW, they will apply the difference between the tickets to future tickets purchased within the next year.
Go online to Change Reservation, enter your confirmation number and select the flight with the lower fare. You will receive credit that can be used on any SWA flight wihtin a year of your original purchase.
IF some or all of the same people in your group can use those credits inside a year from when you booked these flights, then follow the advice to get the credit.
IF no one can use that credit, don't do anything (b/c the credit can't be shared anymore and it's painful to let a credit go, trust me), and stop checking.
Only check when you've booked with an airline that gives credit, and only if you can use that credit! That's my advice.

I strongly disagree. Keep checking and get the credit. You never know when you might have to travel unexpectedly, and it's nice to have some set-aside funds to contribute to that emergency travel.

Well I guess you know yourself and I know myself (and my husband, who took it harder than I did). So the OP gets to figure out how s/he will feel if the credits expire.

My point is that you never know which friend or family member might die/get sick/marry/adopt/give birth/get convicted in the next twelve months. If you have the opportunity to have some credit in an account that might make it cheaper to see that person, why not get it? Because later, down the road, those funds might go un-utilized, and you'd feel 'junky' about letting those rainy-day funds expire? Seems kind of silly to me to let that opportunity get away for that reason.
