Mickey, we are now at the 30day mark!!!!! Let the unconrolable excitement and short-timers begin :lmao:

My son has no clue we are going. He knows "someday" we'll go. We've been looking at the attractions on the DL website and the food porn on here so he IS excited about it though.

I have bought him an "I'm going to Disneyland" tshirt which could be his reveal we shall see.

Edit....Other thought for a reveal is getting streamer and wrapping little gifts (pins, glow sticks, mickey pens, etc) in it until its in a big ball and having the gift in the center be the tshirt with a gift card

AFter visiting friends for the weekend, we will be leaving the Sacramento area at 6:30am on a Monday morning. I plan on putting the above mentioned shirt on the bed for him to get dressed in in the morning. I'll be ready with the camera. IF he reads the shirt/notices (he's good at picking up on "hey thats a new shirt" plus it has mickey and friends on it) then BOOM he will then find out. If not, then I keep my mouth shut and we start driving "home" (which is north but of course we'll be going south)

I will have breakfast and snack items in the car so hopefully we'll only have a bathroom break before lunch.
(Prior to leaving I will have gotten our food for hotel too so we don't have to take time out once we get there to grocery shop)

Plan on stopping at the Flying J truck stop in Lebec, CA for gas and lunch. We should be arriving there shortly before noon and not stopped for moret han 45min. On the road again by 1pm making the rest of the trip to HOJO.. if all goes well we will be there between 2:30-3pm.

I wanted to make dining reservations for our first night, but this is my sons first trip and I want him to have a totally unplanned first night. First thing we will do though is take the train around the park! I plan on steering us towards POTC, Jungle Cruise, that area and then also catching the 6:30 parade that evening.

Tuesday is our Magic Morning! Doing the popular MM rides; dumbo, mr toad, alice etc. Going to try and get DS picked for the Jedi Training today at 10:30 then head over to DCA to get FP's for WOC and catch Phineas and Ferb Rockin Rollin Dance Party. Lunch will be the infamous DCA corn dogs probably :-) Early dinner @ Naples, priority seating 4:30p. Will hopefully have the FP for 8pm WOC.

Wednesday no plan of attack yet. Given the early mornings Mon/Tues we may *gasp* sleep in a little and hit the park closer to 9am. Fantasmic first showing hopefully

Thursday - 7:30am seating for CB at Minnie and Friends! Can't wait, so fun! Use priority seating vouchers for Aladdin today. Plan to watch fireworks from HOJO.

Friday - Breakfast at River Belle Terrace. Ride whatever favorite rides we have to do "one more time" and leave by noon. :-(

Places I want to eat include: Troubadour Tavern (the chicken bbq potato), Village Haus for a burger or brat, dole whip, Cafe Orleans pommes frites and mickey beignets.. and whatever sweet treats we find along the way!

Debating adding a character dinner @ Goofy's Kitchen but not sure yet... Hmmm oh and the CO monte cristo is on the list now too!

My trip seems to be revolving more around food now yikes.

Sounds like tons of fun!! How old is your son? I have taken my kids to Goofy's twice. It is pricey but so much fun. The first time our yougnest was a baby and at home. The older two were 10 and 8; they loved it. The second time the youngest was 4 and older two were 14 and 12. The youngest loved it; the older too....were a little bored.

I would have loved if my parents would have done this for me when I was younger, but I'm definitely going to for my future children. :thumbsup2 I can't wait to hear his reaction and how your trip went! :goodvibes

Chtty: My son is 7 1/2

Moto: I am an only child and my parents never tooke me to DL as a kid and I've always teased them that I didn't get to go to DL until I was in my 20's. I knew that I'd be taking my kiddo for sure and this is the perfect age... I hope ;-)

NOT adding the CD @ Goofy's...at least not as of right now. I decided the CB @ Minnie's was enough (yes I said enough) and that another CD would limit the other good eats we could experience!

I can't believe I'm at the 3 week mark today. Which means technically the first part of our vacation starts in 2wks 4days!!!

Oh my. Time to make a packing and "need to get" list.

Over the weekend I did some fun shopping - found a Cptn Jack Sparrow and Cptn Balbosa figurines on clearance at Walmart - scooped those up as Austin LOVES those movies right now.

Also got him a plush Chip and Dale from the Disney Store sale over the weekend -those are the 2 characters he's said he really wants to see "whenever" we go hahahahahhahaha

Documents arrived yesterday, it is soooo real now!

We leave for the first part (non-surprise) of our vacation 2 weeks from today!

17 days and we'll be DISNEYLAND baby woot woot!

OOOH! We are planning a similiar trip. We are leaving the day after Easter- The Easter Bunny will bring baskets that are Mickey Mouse themed with a small MM backpack for each that they can carry in the park. This is how we plan to break the news to them. We have been picking a different Disney movie to watch each night, I have a DL app on my ipad they have been having fun with, and lots of talk about 'someday' we'll go. It will be thier first time too! DS3 and DD5. We also plan to do the Preferred Seating for Fantasmic! Goofy's Kitchen Character Breakfast, and making the most of Morning Magic hour and TT early entry.
I'm looking forward to reading about your trip, looks like you will be back before we go. So exciting, have a blast!
