Just started reading this thread... I am so glad they were found and in awe with our fellow DISers. Some of you have the biggest hearts. It is heartwarming. I am glad you had a happy ending.

Another Mom said to me yesterday, "Kelsey really wanted that collection, she wondered what she could trade him for it." and I said, "Well, someone really liked it a lot because they took it." The Mom's face was ashen- I wonder if her dd took it. I didn't accuse her- and I doubt it was this child.... but it showed me how much the other kids DID like the collection.

I just read the update and I'm so glad that Jack got the collection back! I know how upsetting it is when our kids lose something so precious to them. We wish the world could just spare them the upset, but of course, eventually something shatters their innocence. If you're feeling very grateful, it'd be nice to write a complimentary letter to your principal's supervisor. You could find out who it is by calling local school board offices. Then, you could send the principal a copy, so that they'd know what you had done. I always like to thank people who went out of their way for me!
