My son received his First Communion yesterday.

What a glorious occassion! I am still glowing from the wonder and joy of the day.

Our church collected for Mother's Day flowers, and so the altar was covered with them. Beautiful! They did a fabulous job with the ceremony. The priest had all the children receiving First Communion join him on the Altar. In place of a homily, he had a little Q&A discussion with the kids.

All of the kids receiving looked gorgeous, but of course, I had THE handsomest little boy. The outfit we put together for him looked absolutely perfect--navy blue suit with a fine pinstripe, crisp white shirt, white damask tie with tiny chalices woven into it, his gold cross from Baptism, shiny black oxford shoes, and a white tea rose boutonnaire.

I was an emotional wreck early in the day. The event brought up so many memories, but I held it together, and it became one of the happiest, most beautiful days I've ever had.
DH and I gave my son a Marian's Mass Book for Children with a mother of pearl cover and a First Communion bear (so cute!). Next week, we having a large party for him in a restaurant.

The First Communion was a glorious way to celebrate Mother's Day. Hope everyone here had a wonderful one too.

Congratulations. My little princess made her First Communion on Saturday. It was a beautiful day. The Mass had tears in my eyes, especially when all the children got on the altar and sang! It was beautiful.

We celebrated with a quiet family brunch at a local hotel. We were and are so proud of her!!

Congratulations! It is such a special day. One of my sons made his first communion last year and my son Joshua will be making his on June 5 with the bishop present. God bless your son!

That is great, Janice, and Rosemary too. Nice memories for sure. We had two Communion parties these past two weekends, nice affairs, brought back memories.
