My son is leaving for Afghanistan tonight :-(

My son (Jeff) called this morning and told me that they got word this morning they are leaving tonight for Afghanistan. It was supposed to be Friday!
He'll be there for a year providing security to UN personnel (he's an MP). If you could please keep him in your prayers I would really appreciate it. On a positive note, I haven't started crying yet! LOL

My brother is a chaplain in the Air Nat'l Guard in NH & he's always telling us that the men & women of the military are the very best our country has to offer. Best of luck to your son and to you. He will be in my prayers. If it helps, my brother was in Afghanistan for a year with his Special Forces unit. He really loved the Afghani people. They were very warm and very appreciative. They have almost nothing but are more than willing to share. DH will be leaving for Iraq in two weeks so I understand how you are feeling.
