Please tell Geoff that I and my family are very proud of him!!

Matthew and DH went to a Boy Scout informational meeting last night at one of the troop meetings, being Matthew is a Webelos II cub scout. Couldn't believe how much committment is involved with Boy Scouts

Congrats to Geoff again!!

Geffric, now go check the 2 PM's I sent you :)

Thanks Rose.. I've been no stop busy here with all the scout and T'day stuff.. I'll check them right now and get back to you.. BTW if Mathew and DH want to talk about boy scouts , let me know. I do the new parent stuff all the time and can give them some insite.

That's awsome!! Congratulations to you both. I'll have to buy you a drink when I see you next month...to celebrate ds's accomplishment, which he couldn't have done without parental support!!

thanks OOOO a drink!!! sounds like a plan to me.. looking forward to seeing you again in a few weeks..

PAM thanks for the welcome to the Eagle MOMs club.. I have my idea about the court of honor but so does Geoff... He is thinking about an OA ceremony.. but i need to make a list of all of the things I/we need to do for the Eagle court of honor . I think I will start with the list for the congrats letter... wonder if I mail them out during XMAs if they will get lost and I should wait until january.. what do you think???

To all.. thanks for the comments and well wishes... it has been an advanture but one he will always speak of proudly ...

My son had the OA ceremony as well! We did the Native American/4 Winds one outside at the Boy Scout camp. It was fantastic!

I would definitely do the Letters of Congratulations now. When DS had his ceremony 3.5 years ago (!) www.macscouter.com had a great list of names and addresses. Don't forget to send letters to Geoff's school, Church and any organizations he may be active in.

My son is now a freshman in college -- but is still active in the OA (former Lodge Chief) and is the Jr. Asst. Scoutmaster with the Troop (but because of college, he doesn't get to many of the activities or meetings).

Have fun and let me know if you need any help!

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOUR SON!!!
Now you get to start planning the Court of Honor/Ceremony!:thumbsup2

!

You know I never realized what a big deal this was until I attended 2 in the past 3 years. They were major deals, held in catering halls- hugh events, lots of "special" people attending. It really was impressive!

Congrats from the sister of 3 eagle scouts and the mom of 1 first class scout. :)

Congratulations!!! What a great accomplishment!

DS is a Life scout and is only a few badges away from completing his Eagle requirements. We are starting to think about his service project.

I love attending Eagle COH's. When is yours? Make sure you post about it!!

Congrats again!!!

Woo Hoo! Congratulations Geoff! Enjoy the glow of accomplishing such a special honor! DS earned his almost exactly 4 years ago today and I still remember sitting anxiously in the wings during his Board (I was too nervous as a Scout leader to sit in on another Scout's Board during that time which is usually the practice here!). He had his ceremony the following March and we chose (with his input of course) a traditional, formal ceremony and buffet afterwards. I still remember DH's very emotional parent speech! This was definitely one of the two highlights of DS's Scouting experience (other was his 2 week canoe trip in Maine).

Congratulations from the wife of an Eagle Scout and the mother of a soon-to-be life scout, who declares he will go all the way to Eagle.

The dedication that was needed from the entire family to enable him to make this great achievement is phenomenal!

BIG, HUGE, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO YOUR SON!!!!:cool1:

What a wonderful accomplishment!!! I am sure you are feeling so, so proud right now!!! Way to go!!!!!:thumbsup2

That's such a great accomplishment! Congratulations to your son! :cheer2:

Congrats to your son and to you for all of the support which I know you gave him during this journey. Eagle Scouts don't just happen without lots of support from their troop, their leaders, and especially their family. Good for him!!!

Now go get a "Proud of our Eagle Scout" bumper sticker and put it on your car IMMEDIATELY!!!

I am thinking about late Feb/early March for the Eagle court of honor.. has to be at least 8 weeks from board of review to give nat'l time to log him in. Geoff wants to do an OA ceremony..
