Hi everyone, I recently returned from my very first solo Disney trip and I wanted to point out some of the highlights:

I rode my favorite ride, Expedition Everest, about 10 times. (Hooray for the single rider line!)

I experienced the "water ride" version of Test Track since it was raining heavily outside during the outdoor track portion. The ride photo was hilarious though. :D

I met Gaston, which was actually the only character meet I've ever done.

I experienced Illuminations, Mission Space, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan's Flight, Journey of the Little Mermaid, Under the Seas with Nemo, Living with the Land, Stitch's Great Escape, and the People Mover for the first time.

I rode Big Thunder Mountain at night which was great! Although weird, because the first time, there was some lighting, but the second time, it seemed like the track was completely dark.

I purchased Memory Maker and ended up with 75 cool trip photos.

I had great meals and excellent service at Be Our Guest, Yak & Yeti, Via Napoli, and Tokyo Dining. I didn't feel at all uncomfortable dining alone.

I got to see my favorite band Hanson perform at five Eat to the Beat shows (would've been six, but one was canceled due to lightning). They are amazing live performers! I was even able to get a meet and greet and take some photos with them during their Mmmhops beer seminar and bottle signing. That was completely unexpected but was an amazing finale to my trip!

So yeah, if you're considering going solo...do it!

Sounds like you had a fantastic trip! Where did you stay?
I stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter. I stayed there before in 2012 and thought it was just ok, but for a solo trip it was great with the resort being so small and easy to get around.

I have only been to Disney once in October and stayed at Pop. My next trip will definitely be for Christmas time! Now.....just need to decide which year I will make it there.........

Awesome! I thought riding EE 6 times in one day was great. Now I have a new goal!

Solo trips are my favorite :goodvibes Glad you had a good time.
Thanks! I wouldn't mind having someone join me on a future trip if we have similar touring styles, but there really is nothing like the autonomy of going solo.

Haha! My rides were actually spread out over three days and the most I rode in one day was 5 times, I think. I have 10 ride photos of me on EE, but I specifically remember riding again with some other people and that photo wasn't captured in my MM account for some reason. So I know I rode at least 11 times.

I'm here right now...and thouroughly enjoying my first solo trip.
From Downtown Disney I took the riverboat to Port Orleans..and what a nice place it looked.
Magic Kingdom looks really good with all the Halloween decorations and having been here at Christmas I think I like now more...less crowds mean I'm walking on most rides with no wait and fast pass the few busy ones...my favourite is Star Wars...its different every time .. I admire your ten times on Everest...Thunder Mountain is it for me I'm afraid..but solo is definitely a different experience.

That sounds like an amazing trip! :thumbsup2 I always set a goal to try at least one new attraction I've never done before but your list is awesome! On one recent solo trip, I also did my 1st character meet & greet in the Innoventions building at Epcot & got to meet Goofy & Mickey. It was a lot of fun! :goodvibes

That's great! I'll have to eventually meet Mickey on a future trip. I also still haven't seen Hall of Presidents (I did go inside the building this time, but the next show was in 18 minutes and I didn't feel like waiting) Philharmagic (it was closed), and I haven't ridden the monorail!

That sounds amazing!! I would absolutely love to get the chance to do a solo disney trip!

That sounds like such fun! I plan on riding my favorites over and over again too on my solo trip. I was a bit apprehensive about dining alone, but I am glad you mentioned that and that it isn't weird.

Nope, dining alone wasn't weird for me. I really think people are too wrapped up in their own families to notice or care what you're doing for the most part. I did have a few male restaurant employees inquire about whether I was alone and then they chatted with me a bit. Maybe they were just being friendly, maybe they were flirting, who knows? :D

The same happened with me, only mostly the female employees. I was on a first name basis with half of the workers at some restaurants by the end of my trip last week.

You must be sure to do Philharmagic next time! It's such a simple attraction, but one of my absolute favorites! I wonder why it was closed. I hope it's open in November ... I might just do it three times in a row without anyone there to roll eyes at me :)

I was told it would be reopening on 9/28, but I didn't make it back to MK so I didn't catch it. I almost saw it during last year's trip, but the person I was with didn't want to see it because it was too cold when we got into the queue. Maybe next time...
